Mom Becca Edwards is "pissed" about a racist remark that her state's governor made, and she's calling him out on it, offering her own biracial family as an example of how very wrong he is.
Maine Gov. Paul LePage issued his offensive comment at a town hall meeting in Bridgton on Jan. 6 while speaking about the influx of heroin in the Pine Tree State. "These are guys with the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty -- these types of guys -- they come from Connecticut and New York, they come up here, they sell their heroin, they go back home," the Republican blasted.
"Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young white girl before they leave, which is a real sad thing because then we have another issue we have to deal with down the road."
Though the crowd at the town meeting didn't immediately react, social media's response was swift -- and seething. The Portland Press Herald reports that Marlon Marshall, Hillary Clinton's director of state campaigns and political engagement, issued a statement calling LePage's comments "racist rants," while Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett dubbed them "outrageous" and Michael Tyler, the Democratic National Committee's director of African-American media, declared them "disgusting."
But in Edwards's now-viral Facebook response, the self-described "white girl in Maine," took it one step further and called for LePage's ouster. "Last week the governor in Maine, my state, suggested to the world that if one were to see me (the white girl) and my daughter (the biracial girl) walking down the street, that she is a product of my involvement with a drug dealer from out of state. And even worse, that she wasn't wanted," wrote the mother in her Jan. 9 post, which has been shared more than 216,000 times in just two days.

Oh, don’t worry, when she started deflecting by chanting Bible verses, I became offended that she would misuse Scripture and troll the forum. That’s when I lost the gentle and blasted her. :)

That’s just my opinion based on what’s been reported in the media.
And just for the record I did click on the link and since I refuse to be politically correct, I don’t see a beautiful family at all. I see what appears to me a freakish family with some brainwashed/ guilt ridden lib girl trying to make a statement.

Anyone who presumes that a little kid has a druggie father just because she’s looks black or partly black is a serious a**hole. And even if she did, it says her Mom made a mistake, not anything else about her.
I can understand the offense taken from LePage, because he spoke in generalities. (And YOU didn’t call him a racist.) The horrible thing about prejudice isn’t recognizing that traits which one might label good or bad exist; it’s in presuming that someone has a bad trait just because they have another trait.
Anyone who’s going to see a black kid and a white Mom and PREJUDGE that the kid’s Dad must be a druggy isn’t going to do so because LePage talked about druggies coming up and impregnating Mainers. They’re going to do so because they have a mindset to push people into categories.
LePage’s identified problem does exist: there are more mixed-race kids in Maine than there are black men in the state! And out-of-state black men aren’t coming into Maine to deal with the paper or lobster industries.
I had a date years ago that was looking for a thug like who was a darker skinned, taller man, the whole thing did not work out for soon it became apparent that I was no different in personal culture then the average american speaking posh English, so I will admit there is some truth to it.
Though most of my ex-GF’s are White and Hispanic there are those who want to be apart of that ghetto society, half the reason I stay the hell away from them, and no I will no police your speech, there is freedom of speech after all.

Ok. Let’s go to the tape. How many biracial children in Maine are on the welfare rolls? What percent is that of all children on the rolls? And what percent are receiving child support from the father?
