Mom Becca Edwards is "pissed" about a racist remark that her state's governor made, and she's calling him out on it, offering her own biracial family as an example of how very wrong he is.
Maine Gov. Paul LePage issued his offensive comment at a town hall meeting in Bridgton on Jan. 6 while speaking about the influx of heroin in the Pine Tree State. "These are guys with the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty -- these types of guys -- they come from Connecticut and New York, they come up here, they sell their heroin, they go back home," the Republican blasted.
"Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young white girl before they leave, which is a real sad thing because then we have another issue we have to deal with down the road."
Though the crowd at the town meeting didn't immediately react, social media's response was swift -- and seething. The Portland Press Herald reports that Marlon Marshall, Hillary Clinton's director of state campaigns and political engagement, issued a statement calling LePage's comments "racist rants," while Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett dubbed them "outrageous" and Michael Tyler, the Democratic National Committee's director of African-American media, declared them "disgusting."
But in Edwards's now-viral Facebook response, the self-described "white girl in Maine," took it one step further and called for LePage's ouster. "Last week the governor in Maine, my state, suggested to the world that if one were to see me (the white girl) and my daughter (the biracial girl) walking down the street, that she is a product of my involvement with a drug dealer from out of state. And even worse, that she wasn't wanted," wrote the mother in her Jan. 9 post, which has been shared more than 216,000 times in just two days.

You and your family are beautiful, hardworking, people who should never be singled out because of people's clear ignorance, hatred, and prejudiced hearts. May the Lord bless and protect your family!

Unless your were knocked by a dope peddler, it’s not about you.
The truth can be painful and offensive, but....its the truth.
Sometime the truth hurts but its still the truth.
Mom Becca Edwards (is her first name Mom?) is on the payroll of Media Matters. Bank on it. This is an orchestrated online campaign just like the one they used to go after Rush over the “slut” remark.
Slightly off topic....this article is PAINFUL to read. Particularly that first run-on sentence. Does anybody learn English before enrolling in J-school anymore?
Suck it up, Buttercup. Dude didn't say ALL biracials come about this way. But he did say SOME.
Perhaps you can learn the difference. ALL vs. SOME.
Not all truth that came from that Governor’s mouth and heart.
methinks, you get it.
But be careful admitting it could be dangerous.
Not all truth that came from that Governorâs mouth and heart.
Edwards is being a drama queen plain and simple. Another idiot who wants to be offended over anything and looking fort attention off the dopey fools out there.
How many are called D-money?
Just has said the same and then read your post.
This woman is yet another product of the idiots out there looking to be offended and looking for attention.
This is truth...
God loves ALL of the human race. He has NO favorites.
He loves biracials...no matter the circumstances in which they came into the world.
This woman has a beautiful family.

If the governor had said “Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young girl before they leave, which is a real sad thing because then we have another issue we have to deal with down the road,” and not added the word “white,” would the statement have been more or less usefully “true”?
What’s being reported is not what the guy said. He said “the thugs” are impregnating white girls. He didn’t say Becca’s husband is a thug. By the way, does she have a husband?
However, what he said was still wrong as hell!
The sentences are run-on.
Do you know her family or are you assuming they are a beautiful family just because she is white with a half white black kid.?
