This week on Boston's AM680 WKRO's "The Kuhner Report," Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump told host Jeff Kuhner he thought he can win the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and Massachusetts in the general presidential election against the Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Trump said, "They say that if I run against Hillary it will be the single greatest turnout in our country for voting. A lot of those people are going to vote for me because they are tired of the system. That's why they never voted before. They are tired of the system. And I think that's right. I think I'm going to win places - I have a chance at winning New York, which the Republicans don't even think about. And New York is very big ⦠I mean I think I'll win Pennsylvania. I think I'll win Ohio. I think I'll win Florida. I think we do great. And all the polls have me leading the various people like, you know, Kasich is the governor of Ohio and I'm way ahead of him in Ohio-you know, in the poll."

That sort of scorched-earch ideological purity test is the reason why we've had a succession of poor R candidates. No man is perfect (including St. Ted) but the rule is you nominate the most conservative electable candidate. For all his potential virtues (and there are many), I've yet to see a credible argument of how he garners the required 270 electoral votes.
Many believe that Trump may be the last chance to avoid CW II. If Hillary is elected after four more years of amnesty and further cronyist corruption, it's not clear how the country rights itself peaceably.
“The man NEVER talks about the Constitution. It’s always “immigration this” and “Muslims that” and all this “Make America Great Again” business. I hear he’s even benefited from eminent domain.”
The election will not be won or lost based on the Constitution. The average American never thinks about the Constitution.
That is red meat for conservatives. There aren’t enough of us to win the General Election.
They are worried about their future, their kids, the destruction of the country, etc.
They also care about their Second Amendment Rights. He has talked about that. It is a compelling message.
Is the Constitution critical? You bet.
Is the Constitution, in general, a compelling message to win the Presidency? No.
Ergo, he is in this to win.
I so hope that the upcoming election is not another squeaker. I want to see Hellary massacred, annihilated, obliterated, utterly and completely destroyed, without mercy. I want to see her melt into the pile of human excrement that she is.
Immigration is the only existential issue for America. When Democrats realized that they were losing the South, losing first state legislatures, then governors, and would eventually become a permanent minority party, they started using immigration to save themselves. If you can't convince the electorate, then create a NEW ELECTORATE. One from the Third World, poor, unskilled, illiterate, who would immediately go on public benefits. That process continues, massively juiced by the illegal invasion. America as you know it will cease to exist if this is not stopped and at least partially reversed. Planned Parenthood, government waste, etc. are meaningless next to that.
P.S. What is wrong with eminent domain? It's in the Constitution: ââ¦nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.â Eisenhower could not have built the interstate highway system without it. Excesses must be curbed, to be sure, especially upon presidential decrees of wilderness areas, etc. But it is legal.
Is there a single one of the 50 states plus D.C. that Trump would say that he won’t win?
She does not if I am a bellwether.

2016:
Of course, if Trump is right, the win may be even bigger...because Hitlery is going to have to spend money in normally Democrat states...which will hurt her in other battlegrounds like Virginia and Colorado and Nevada....
“In my opinion, it’s much better to lose with Cruz and stay pure than to chance winning with a guy who’s as ideologically flawed as Trump is.”
Mind-boggling in its unreality. So you can’t get behind ANY of the proposals Donald Trump has been making? ANY?
I don’t think that many people are still showing up for Bernie, are they?
YUP.
>>You’re not wrong. But he’s the best we can hope for at this point in history. <<
Utter nonsense. But at least you agree that Trump is potentially a liberal candidate.
Hillary is one of the worst candidates the Dems have ever run and the country is ready for change after Obama’s tenure. Any number of GOP candidates who are clearly more conservative (and stable) than Trump would stand an excellent chance of beating Hillary (assuming she can even beat Bernie and that she’s not indicted first.)
Without Trump we wouldn’t be talking about immigration or anything else important, and Jethro Bush would already be the presumed nominee.
He could be right about turn out for him. Since 1968 I’ve only failed to vote in one presidential election, 1980 because I was out of state on election day. If the GOP has another RINO on the top of the ticket I’m staying home this time. Held my nose and voted for Ford, Dole, Bush 1 and 2, McCain, Romney.....not going to do it again.
I did not say she would win the cunning linguists’ vote.
Guys guys guys, I was just being sarcastic! I forgot the “/typical Cruz supporter” tag
I should call you on the carpet for that post ;)
I agree,he’s not taking PA.
I agree, Cruz can’t win on top of ticket. Trump on top of ticket will win.
Bernie lost it in debate on email crime.
