The United States of America that we grew up in, and in some cases fought for - no longer exists. I would like to write something stirring in defense of our Constitution, but it isn't under attack. It is simply ignored.

I am tired of being told by Barack Obama on the one hand, and Bill O'Reilly on the other, what my American values are or ought to be. I can work those out for myself. I am tired of living in the dumping ground for whatever group of hostile immigrants the social engineers in Washington import to ease their guilty consciences. Let them move their Mexican underclass and angry Syrian colonists to Martha's Vineyard or Marin County north of San Francisco.Maybe this would help our legislators and "opinion makers" alleviate a bit of their never-ending narcissistic angst.

To be quite honest, I have no particular love for Donald Trump -- but he is what we have. He doesn't speak well. I don't think he has any idea what a republic is. Then again, his last two predecessors didn't really understand the concept of a republic either. No doubt it's not a word they use at Harvard. Although I may not especially like the erratic, often juvenile Mr. Trump, it isn't lost on me that he at least doesn't hold me in contempt.

I would prefer to have a genuine conservative candidate to vote for, and will probably vote for Cruz if he looks viable enough. But if Donald Trump is what it has come to -- I will happily take the risk and check the box next to his name.

"Unfortunately, that is the end of Trump show. There is nothing more to be seen or heard. Now it is just re-runs of an old sit-com."
It's interesting to see it worded that way. Even though it's used generally, I was told last night that people are leaving Trump rallies early now.
"The only other choice is you look to the candidate that has a broad conservative message and a deep constitutional foundation. This other candidate just doesnât have the ability to capture the anger that only Trump can. Right now the polls show that people are more angry than conservative. Which one is the best choice for America is up to you."
We've seen it here on FR---so many Trump supporters openly state they know Trump isn't a conservative and they don't care. A couple of them have told me that conservatism doesn't really exist, whatever that's supposed to mean.
I'm angry about the state of the country, too, but I'm not going to let my anger lead me into a stupid decision. Yelling and hurling insults is fleeting satisfaction; I want the candidate who can and will DO something to set the nation straight.
LOL!
I’ve heard of tactics like this...
Trump is, I believe, perfect for our time.

I totally agree.
She couldn’t be much worse than Roberts and Kennedy. I predict that the notion of personhood is going to continue to shrink into oblivion as long as most of the persons in this country passionately love and cherish death.
Exactly right. Trump’s ego is our biggest guarantor against him selling us down the road. That’s something the TDS’ers around here don’t get, or don’t want to get.
And there’s a big difference between Trump’s ego and Obama’s ego. Trump lives in the real world. Obama does not.
Another big difference is that Trump loves America while Obama hates us.
Absolutely. That’s a huge difference. Trump actually like life and likes people and he loves America. Obama hates all three of those things.
“Who here is confident Donald Trump will appoint true conservatives to the SCOTUS? Isnât that one of the most important roles of the POTUS?”
About as confident as Ronald Reagan appointing Sandra Day O’Connor, or Bush 43 appointing John Roberts. Life’s a crapshoot.
Who here is confident Donald Trump will appoint true conservatives to the SCOTUS? Isn’t that one of the most important roles of the POTUS?
As others have mentioned....look at the Justice’s appointed by Reagan, Bush, etc. It IS a crapshoot, as we have no idea how these Justices will ultimately settle.
Also, Trump is taking it to the lying MSM, RINOs, Clintons, etc...like NO other Pubbie has EVER done, before. So, there’s that.
Roberts and Kennedy are disappointments.
Ginsburg, Sotomayor and Kagan are dangerous. Two more of them will clearly figure out a way, for example, to outlaw handguns and make it illegal for churches to oppose homosexuality.
Actually I feel pretty good about Trump’s motives and I also think he will do the right thing even when the libtards and the MSM start howling. He has the stones to stand again’st adversity.
Trying to shut down even the most vile agency of the US govt will bring a wailing wall with it. It will be like the end of the world. That is why these politicians always campaign on reducing the size of govt. Then when they get elected its just too hard to do because the left goes banana cakes and the MSM backs them up.
Trump will just sit down with Don Lemon at CNN or whoever and say “well it has to be done Don, it just has to be done”.
Why in that case we might feel the heat and hop out of the pot!
That is very clever, I like it!
