Donald Trump praised Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, saying that she would make a "great president."
BuzzFeed News unearthed the comments, made in a 2008 blog post.
"Hillary Clinton said she'd consider naming Barack Obama as her vice-president when she gets the nomination, but sheâs nowhere near a shoo-in," the real estate mogul wrote about the tight 2008 Democratic primary between Clinton and then-Illinois Sen. Obama.
"For his part, Obama said heâs just focused on winning the nomination, although at least one member of his team said Clinton would make a good vice-president. (I know Hillary and I think sheâd make a great president or vice-president.)."
It's far from the first time Trump, who is now lambasting Hillary and Bill Clinton as he seeks the GOP presidential nomination, has spoken positively of the former first couple.
Another blog post from 2008 has previously surfaced, where Trump praised Clinton for being "smart, tough and a very nice person." He also lauded Bill Clinton, calling him a "great President."
"Hillary was roughed up by the media, and it was a tough campaign for her, but sheâs a great trouper," Trump wrote in 2008. "Her history is far from being over."

And this is important because.....?
Did he say a president of a particular country or business?
Making sure she never becomes president would more than make up for this minor gaffe from the past.
Because he says he’s conservative.
He also said in Iowa he’s an Evangelical.
Does not know the meaning of conservative or evangelical.
It’s important because presidio9 and other Trump/Cruz bashers really REALLY want the booger picker as their candidate.
>>And this is important because.....?
Because the Democrats are scared.
Because the GOProgressives are scared.
Because the Conservative Purists are scared.
What is this, the seventh month where that has been breaking news?
LOL
Trump isn’t supporting Hillary, for those who don’t know yet.
Well if he can keep her from being president, I’ll forgive him.
yeah, we know - because that factoid has been posted here nearly twelve bazillion times. I also heard that Trump once tried to pull a little girl’s pigtails on the playground when he was in 1st grade. He probably doesn’t do that anymore either.
Don’t you know that was his evil twin, not him.
Because he said it? Out of his mouth.
Did he mean it? If he does, then why is he running against her.
He’s not saying she’s good but he’d be better. He’s blasting her.
what changed? just asking.
seems every word Cruz ever said is under a microscope. Just sayin’
Things like this are always important because they tend to resurface during general elections. Do you or I value this, or think that Donald Trump won't have an answer for it? No.
But it does matter. Specifically because Donald Trump is now criticizing some of the Clinton's behavior that took place before he said these things. Her spokesmen will take these quotes and use them against him at some point.
Typically 90% of the things that I post to FR are things that I disagree with. I do this because I want to see how smart people who I tend to agree with address these issues.
If your goal is to read only articles that you approve of, there are plenty of websites (Drudge, for instance) that are more effect tools for that purpose.
I’m not sure about the evangelical thing, but I do know that by his own accounting his conversion to conservatism began in 2011. This quote was in 2008. That said, he read the tea leaves right that the democrats would win that year. They did. Businesses play both sides of the fence.
He had to do business.
No, he said she liked “Gay Merriment.”
And how right he was.
Well he took a second look...
What a yawn.

And this is important because.....?
Limbaugh announced “Operation Chaos,” a political call to action with the initial plan to have voters of the Republican Party temporarily cross over to vote in the Democratic primary and vote for Hillary Clinton, who at the time was in the midst of losing eleven straight primary contests to Barack Obama.
