Comedic legend Jerry Lewis recently sat down for an interview with the Catholic EWTV outlet. The riveting interview, which aired Thursday, concluded with current events, including Obama, Trump, ISIS and even the refugee crisis. Lewis did not hold back, bashing Obama as a failed leader, smacking down the idea of importing more Syrians, and praising GOP front-runner Donald Trump for his "showmanship."
Raymond Arroyo, host of âWorld Over,â asked Lewis about the horrific emergence of ISIS. Lewis first wondered aloud where our NATO allies were to tackle the âworldâ problem and then commented that they are âasking to be stopped.â
âTheyâre asking to be stopped and weâre not stopping them; weâre just reporting what theyâre doing,â asserted Lewis. âItâs ridiculous!â
Arroyo followed up with a question about the refugee crisis currently facing the West.
"You donât have uncertainty in a leader; a leader doesnât give sh*t what he does, but he gets it done."
JERRY LEWIS
âRefugees should stay where the hell they are,â said Lewis bluntly. âHey, no one has worked harder for the human condition than I have, but theyâre not part of the human condition. If 11 guys in the group of 10,000 are ISISâhow can I take that chance?â
Lewis is not alone in this feeling; as of last month at least 31 governors rejected President Obamaâs push to accept Syrian refugees into their states. Reports of ISIS now having access to a machine that makes American passports and recent revelations of the holes in our vetting system, borne out in the horrific San Bernardino terror attack, are just a couple of the factors legitimizing such pushback from the American people.
Lewis then said that President Obama was ânever preparedâ for ISIS and suggested that he was not a real leader.
âWhat Iâm watching in him (President Obama), is uncertainty. You donât have uncertainty in a leader; a leader doesnât give sh*t what he does, but he gets it done,â said the legend.
The clip concludes with Lewis praising Trump for his âshowmanship.â
âI think heâs great,â said Lewis of Trump. âHeâs a showman and weâve never had a showman in the presidentâs chair.â
âWell, we had Ronald Reagan,â Arroyo interjected.
âWell, thatâs different,â answered Lewis. âYou canât make do a comparison on Ronald Reagan because I can do three hours on him with just praise, he was so good.â
Heâs the full interview with EWTV:
Thanks. I see he is right about ISIS but not about Obama.
Tell them it’s not about technology (although I have no complaints about FR on that). It’s about the comments. They are the heart of Free Republic.
Anyone can post a legitimate, well-sourced news article. Freepers give you the extremes of opinion that news and opinion pieces can’t give. They contribute a perspective informed by the state where they live and in some cases even a deeper knowledge, depending on what they do in their lives. Freepers’ political memory is extraordinary, and of course there is great wit and wisdom here.
I’m not even going into the “family” stuff, like how the posters are known to one another and constitute a community of sorts.
It is priceless. The posters we disagree with even help. The kids just don’t get it.
>>Go back and look at threads from more than 10 years ago. There was a definite presence but 35-40 year olds now not so much.
The 35-40 year olds of old are the 45-50 year olds of today.
The site may be more generational than others.
I don’t want pre-chewed bits with embedded videos (that have a tendency to crash even modern browsers on current systems on high speed networks).
And the discourse at the bottom of MSM articles is very poor. FR posters will cite additional details and counter arguments in the articles and discussions posted (often with references). In the MSM, you get name calling and long discussions of how it was Jews celebrating the 9-11 attacks and that Boosh stole the 2000 and 2004 elections.

Good clip!
Resemble that remark? ;-)
“The 35-40 year olds of old are the 45-50 year olds of today.”
Yes and new 35-40 year olds are not coming here as in the past.
Saying obama was not prepared for islam is way off track, obama has and continues to PREPARE the way for all things islam.
I refer to obama as the supreme islamic imam/caliph for the entire islamic world.
RE: Almost 90 years old and still sharp as a tack.
Who’s zanier in his prime, Jerry Lewis or Jim Carrey?
Well said.
I am in awe of the collective brain power on FR. Learn something new here just about every day. And, no matter how arcane a subject matter is, there is always some FReeper who is an expert.
How about this? No.
Some articles take more time than they are worth to hand-edit gnarly characters. But fear not. Learn to use this ...

I hate to say it, but DU’s interface, bells and whistles make FR look like Windows 3.1.
“Freepers give you the extremes of opinion”
You a funny guy. I guess extreme could be defined as from right of center to far right, though. LOL
Guys like Lewis and Trump are inspiring to me as I grow into old age.
For one absolutely. Try posting an article from your phone on FR.
1998’s hearings that lead to impeachment put FR on the map.
2000’s election recount continued the activism.
Man-on-the-ground observations on 9-11 made it timely.
2004’s election and the outright FRAUD perpetrated by AP and Dan Rather presented forged documents as October Surprise again put FR on the map (as did the Swift Boat Veterans’ opposition to JFKerry).
FR hasn’t gone away, some talk hosts have turned against it (or at least won’t mention it on air anymore). Rush will still namecheck FR.
I can’t say that many of the ‘new’ clear channel hosts are using FR for show prep. They seem to lag days to weeks behind on the news.
Sorry but I have to disagree — The problem isn’t “orthodox” islam; the problem is islam. It’s a system of conquest and domination that is, at its roots, imcompatible with the rest of the civilized world.
I would appreciate an edit option.
