Politico has a thoughtful piece explaining why Donald Trump's lead may not be as large as it seems. Reading the article carefully, I came away with the opposite conclusion.
According to the latest polls, Donald Trump is in the lead with anywhere between 27% and 36% of the vote - quite a wide gap, depending on which poll you look at.
The big problem with polls is you don't know exactly who is going to vote, and many people who are polled don't end up voting.

I see a 50-state sweep as a real possibility.
Real women are going to abandon hillary for Trump, in droves.
It’s bad enough polls are all over the map, but now we have to also put up with rank speculation, you know, “Oh, Trump’s numbers are higher than the polls really show.” or “Oh, Trump’s numbers are really lower than the polls show.”.
I’ll be REALLY glad when some actual primary elections are conducted! (I wonder if anyone will then tell us how THOSE numbers are meaningless or should have been higher or lower?)
“I see a 50-state sweep as a real possibility.”
So do I. I believe Trump’s numbers are very understated.
I can't see him taking Hawaii.
Attacks like San Bernadino only strengthen his and ted Cruz's positions.
Bet the poll numbers are VERY high, that’s why Obozo is pushing his Evil Agenda as fast and hard as possible, even if he’s paying folks off the kill us !
I kinda get that feeling too
Then again, a lot of women just love guys who are total jerks. Difference between and Alpha male and a jerk male. LOL!
I mostly agree with your post, except that I consider myself a “real woman” and I’m not abandoning Hillary for Trump as I was never going to vote for her in the first place so there’s no abandoning on my part. That said, I understand what you mean - I suspect that you are referring to women that are Dims or Independents.
Go Trump and/or Cruz!
Maybe the people.of Hawaii won’t bother to vote is Trump is already declared winner after the polls close on the East Coast.
The problem with that is that even if Trump is beating the pantsuit off Hillary (image—shudder...) in every state East of the Pacific, the driveby media will absolutely not call it until the wee hours of the am.
Real women never would have supported her in the first place.
A couple of days ago, one of the newsies was commenting on the new poll that showed Trump up around 10 points over the previous poll. Newsie was flabbergasted at that rise and said ‘that poll was before the San Bernadino attack.’
New polls, post-San Bernadino, will be coming out soon. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact the SB attack might have had.
Currently I think Trump’s poll numbers are 5-6% too low. He is probably polling around 40-45% because he gets about 30% of the secondary vote right now that is an extra 5-6%.
As the top tier candidates drop out, I assume he will keep getting 30% of secondary vote which puts him well over 50% of Republican support.
If it is true that Trump is getting 25% of the black vote it is not too far of a stretch he can get 25% of the democrat vote and 25% of the Hispanic vote.
Those numbers create an absolute blow out mandate with 60%+ of the total vote.
What I look forward to in a President Trump? More than anything. Hillary in jail.
Putting some people in jail
Cleaning house at the State Dept, CIA, FBI, etc.
Ending government unions
Defunding tyrannical government agencies
etc
That stuff should all be done, and probably can be done without a lot of political horse-trading. The executive branch controls a lot of that stuff.
And of course, Immigration, Islam, tax reform, and economic growth. Lots to do, but Trump can find people to accomplish the tasks.
“polls are all over the map”
Every poll shows Trump with something between a big and demanding lead. How are they all over the map?
And a lot of men think alpha can-do men who women go crazy for are total jerks.
LOL back at ya'.
