Pretty pic!
I never stated otherwise. It is 59% of the border.
That is "most" which is what I claimed.
I would build the fence on our side of the river
Thus giving the river to the Mexicans.
I believe the border probably runs down the middle, but having it on our side will suffice
Spoken like someone who does not own river land here.
Look, man.. a simple wall just ain't going to get it.
I wish it did.. but there is more to be considered.
I'm not dissing a wall.. I'm pointing out that if we're to put one in Texas, it ain't going to wipe out a whole region.
No Sir, you may NOT have our river.
Now is precisely NOT THE TIME to demand we—honest, law abiding Americans—turn in our guns!!!
The democrats risk pissing off most law abiding Americans with this talk. These events rightfully frighten us. Many may not say so, some might even deny it, but the gun sale numbers go thru the roof every time one of these incidents happen. Now THAT is a poll you can trust!
Who wants to die cowering under a desk or pretending to already be dead, as one poor soul did yesterday?
What happened to the spirit of Todd Beamer, who on 9/11, 6 miles over Pennsylvania, famously said “Let's roll!”?
I'm down with that, I'll tell you what!
I know, its not realistic without a massive pumping system.
But the US has very significant water rights there. Far too much to give away.
PING!
Nobody is talking about giving anyone the river.
We can provide access, maintain rights, AND control the border too in stopping illegal swimmers/waders.
The fact is, we HAVE to control our border. We can work with land owners to do that.
I was raised in Texas on a ranch, so I do in fact know what I am talking about.
I have also worked for decades with water rights here in the west against rogues in the government and understand the water issues as well.
I am willing to bet you dollars to doughnuts that the VAST majority of them will be more than willing to work with the right administration to make it happen.
This can be made to work, and it can be done without destroying water or land rights. The fact is...there is a border, and it has to be controlled.
I am wondering the same things. What happened to the 3rd gunman?
I don't recall where I disputed that. Please point it out.
Nobody is talking about giving anyone the river.
What would walling off our side of it do?
Did you know there are International treaties regarding the use of the river?
Chanting "WALL!" just doesn't get it.
Yes, secure the border.. but don't chant Simple-Simon crap expecting that to work.
That country is beautiful as all get out.
Only trouble is the Mexicans in charge of it.
Agree.
I never said that you said those things humble. You are either projecting or reading things into it all on your own.
I simply made statements, and I stand by them. If you agree with those statements, all the better.
I have also made it clear that I am not simply yelling, “Wall, wall!” And I am not saying you said I was...but you did make the statement in relation to my proposal, so if those words refer to me then they are misplaced and themselves, IMHO, simply rhetoric to try and make points.
I have worked with ranchers (which is an environment I was raised in) and farmers and agencies regarding land and water rights. I have seen...sometimes through standing firm against the agencies...solutions be developed as a result. I have no doubts whatsoever that the same could be done here along the Rio Grande.
So give the other a rest. I feel strongly that it HAS to happen if we are going to secure the border.
But the fence can be built along there and the illegal entry shut down, while at the same time satisfying both water and land rights. . It most certainly will take work to do that...but that need no stop us from doing so.
I would build the fence on our side of the river
To whom does that give the river, sir?
Eliminate all gun free zones in the country.
Since Farook choose to have his wife with him in this terrorist attack can we now start searching these women at the airports?
Uh...there is NO fence next to the river now...do the Mexicans own the river?
Building a fence does not convey ownership.
As I said...the issues can be worked out...and they should be.
Should never have been established in the first place.
Problem is, you have a certain segment who want the entire country to be a gun free zone for law abiding citizens. The 3easier to control them...which is what that is really all about.
