Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is asking Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to stop using the power ballad "Dream On" at campaign events.
Attorneys for Tyler sent a second cease-and-desist letter to Trump's campaign committee on Saturday.

That is the website from the government that describes what is allowed.
I can think of a song by the Eagles that would be as appropriate. Actually, more than one. :-)
And a REALLY ugly one at that! Hard to believe that the truly gorgeous Liv Tyler sprang from those loins....
That there is funny

it appears that Tyler owns the rights to this song.
Eddie called Sammy? What’d he call him? Everything but a white man, probably! Har! Hell would have to freeze over before those two would speak to each other...
Desperado?
I Don’t Want to Hear Anymore?
Those Shoes?
That is Trumps song
All day long

How about “Witchy Woman” and “Lyin’ Eyes”?
Those were too easy. :)
Don’t think so. That’s more for a movie, using a sample for an ad is still another issue.
Here’s an example. At a concert there might be songs playing before the first act takes the stage. The promoter is assumed to be responsible to handle paying the appropriate agencies. No one came to the event because of this usage. Same for a Trump rally.
But, if at some point the song becomes part of Trump’s branding, then Tyler has a case.
“I assume that the writer of the song PROBABLY still owns the copyright to same??”
Probably. As an aside, it’s very interesting that patents have a finite lifetime, but not copyrights. Why the difference? They’re both ‘intellectual property’ of a sort.
Hey I saw them on TV. None of them were high. They were surprisingly good.
Isn’t Tyler the guy who is unsure of which sexted he is?
