Deal approved to protect grizzly bear habitat in Montana ( Donald Molloy )
Reuters ^ | 10-10-2015 | Laura Zuckerman

A U.S. judge on Friday approved a deal between conservationists and Montana officials to restrict road-building and logging in roughly 22,000 acres of state forest lands that make up core habitat for federally protected grizzlies.

The agreement resolves a lawsuit brought by conservationists after the state had sought to open 37,000 acres , mostly in the Stillwater State Forest, to timber harvesting despite what environmentalists said would be the destruction of prime grizzly bear territory.

...

U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy in a decision last year found the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service violated the Endangered Species Act by issuing a permit to Montana for the project opening up the expanse to the timber industry.

Montana appealed the judge's ruling and conservation groups later appealed separate parts of the decision, leading to a stalemate that set the stage for both sides to hammer out a settlement.

Molloy approved the agreement on Friday, said attorney Tim Preso of the firm Earthjustice

...

The settlement comes after a federal-state panel managing grizzly bears in and around Yellowstone National Park, mostly in Wyoming, said a separate population of about 700 bears has recovered and recommended they be stripped of federal protections.

The Fish and Wildlife Service is expected to make a decision on delisting soon.

Maybe they would like to stay where they live now instead of being forced to move so you can create a grizzly habitat. Are you familiar with property rights?

Or maybe you just enjoy a special kind of cruelty.

I was just listening to coast-to-coast. I was hoping to be entertained by alien or bigfoot stories. Instead it was a deadly serious (including reducing the world’s population by billions) about the UN’s Agenda 21, and one of their goals is to have people living in megacities, with the rural limits becoming more and more as wildlife sustainability zones.

Some of it sounds as far fetched as the bigfoot stories. Until one reads articles like this, or quotes from UN people on how the global warming thing will bring about the biggest change in global economic redistribution ever.

I’m all for protecting or environment so we can use it in all manners of form (logging, hiking, mining, fishing, etc.). But shutting down the roads closes it off to everyone.

Piling on the predators works well too.

rewilding

A current result of rewilding - Airlifting Pregnant Caribou Away From Wolves

One of many....the elk and caribou herds in many areas of the west are decimated and beyond recovery thanks to grizzlies and wolves. Meantime the Sierra club pukes and Earthfirst scum are tying up proposals to hunt them in the federal courts because they are way overpopulated. Keeping them listed as endangered when in fact they are anything but is the game.

A big part of agenda 21 includes removing reasons for humans to be in rural areas, so the focus now is on taking away hunting, ranching and farming. The best way to do that is with the use of apex predators in huge populations. Oh, and feeding the koolaid to the leftist low IQ followers and worshippers of Gaiea.

“Oh, and feeding the koolaid to the leftist low IQ followers and worshippers of Gaiea.”

There is hope. The gal on C2C is a Democrat! Her website is

http://www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com/

She was saying how lots of liberals like the concepts of globalism and socialism, until they realize that Agenda 21 takes away the individual, and she doesn’t see many stepping forward to sacrifice themselves for the common good in the wake of increased population.

even some democrats are against it

Lest you think this is the stuff of conspiracy theory, they are already trying it in Seattle.

Is Seattle doing away with single-family homes?

"According to a draft letter, the city needs to move away from the idea that all families can live in their own home on a piece of land, the Times reports."

"With a 19-3 vote, the committee recommends replacing single-family zoning with zoning that would allow for more multi-unit buildings, according to the Times. That means developers are going to buy up homes and turn them into duplexes and apartments, if the draft is approved, Dori said."

Once you begin paying attention you can see agenda 21 in action all around us.

And really, just how arrogant of us is it to think we can own our own home with a bit of land???

I wish I felt more hopeful.

My husband and I left Washington state and moved to northern Michigan to find some sanity.

The eco nazis have the courts in their pockets.

We desperately need a POTUS who will kick this stuff out the door.

There are tons of them who are just fine with living in crowded apartments in huge cities on the wolf threads on facebook.

One more on the replacement of single family homes in Seattle...

Get rid of single-family zoning? These conversations shouldn’t be secret

"“In fact, (the committee) recommends we abandon the term ‘single family zone,’ ” the draft reads.

“We can still be a city for everyone, but only if we give up our outdated ideal of every family living in their own home on a 5,000 square foot lot,” a draft letter from the committee co-chairs reads.

It is an "outdated ideal" for every family to have their own home. This completely blows my mind.

Bill Ayers and his terrorists pals would approve of the UN Agenda 21.

Removing people from their homes and farms. Killing the tens of millions of people who refuse to submit to their image of Satan.

Okey dokey, kill all the bears.

While you are at it, get rid of all the wolves.

No one suggested shutting down the roads. The Grizzly Bear corridor exists whether people live there, or not.

That's just silly.

No one said anything about forcing people off their land. I said if I were wealthy, I would buy the land, and should have added, if they want to sell.

Are you a vegetarian? No? How do you think steak arrives in the grocery store.

Go hug a tree and stop trying to annoy me.

Imported, Canadian timber : Wolves Have Destroyed Yellowstone.

my first visit to the park more than 50 years ago. It was robust with ungulates — elk, deer, antelope and bison.

I’ve made three trips since the late 1990s and each time have viewed fewer of these animals. About four years ago the only elk (about 50 head) we saw were in the town of Mammoth Hot Springs. During our trip this summer we saw some bison, no bears or antelope, and only two bull elk. Since the introduction of wolves in the 1990s, it is vividly clear that they have taken a toll, especially on the once magnificence herds of elk which were estimated at around 18,000 head before wolf reintroduction. The current population is around 2,800 head and their future existence is now unknown because the calf survivable ratio is so low that sustaining the parks’ northern elk herd is questionable.

My four grandchildren were very excited to see herds of elk but were extremely disappointed not to see them. The wolf lovers can be blamed for ruining one of the parks’ main wildlife attractions. I feel sorry for the future generations that will not have the grand memories of the elk that I have.

This is exactly why wolves were reintroduced.

To destroy the ungulate population.

The one argument the gun grabbers couldn’t win was the one that said hunting was more humane than starvation for the ungulates.

So, the liberals just decided to do away with the ungulates.

No deer.....no need for rifles.

Then, they get to tell everyone what to do.

Your corridor doesn’t exist unless we allow it to exist.

Grizzlies are tools of the left and agenda 21 lovers. They don’t *belong* anywhere. If you are going to make that argument you begin to sound like a wolfpimp. It’s not their land. Property rights matter.

In Washington state they are trying to import grizzlies into the Cascades and the state is balking. For one thing it is against state law. The feds don’t care about breaking state laws. Just wait till all the liberals from Seattle start getting killed by them during the tons of recreational hiking, etc they
do in the Cascades.

The wolves are starting to move into western Wa now too.
Won’t be long before one grabs a kid....I guess the left will be OK with that since humans are evil, they tell me.

Just a final note for you. I have been here a long time and my anti-
liberalism is well proven. Don’t accuse me of being a tree hugger again.
You are in fact the one stating you are on the side of the grizzlies who are a
tool of the Sierra club pukes and agenda 21 lovers. Better look in the mirror before you name call. If I were king, every grizzly and wolf would be dead. I am not a worshipper of biodiversity.

One of my favorite browsing activities is to enjoy the pics of dead wolves from the hunts where they are allowed. Currently on in Idaho I believe. Go hunters. I try to thank each one personally.

I fight that trophic cascade crap all the time. It is everywhere on the internet in spite of the science proving it wrong. The left enviro Nazis have been effective in the use of media and they have a strong cult following.

Their hypocrisy is more than obvious when they don’t care about the caribou herds dying out in BC. Miley Cyprus is their latest celebrity idiot.

Confirmed: Montana Elk Herd Destroyed By [ imported at US taxpayer expense, from Canada, Huge, timber ] Wolves.

Montana Game and Fish confirmed what many of us have said for ten years [ since 2000 ] .. elk herds won’t slowly decline, they will precipitously collapse.

This herd [ Gallatin Valley ] was counted at 1,500 elk in 2005 and all cow hunts were stopped. The herd has decline 85% and is now at 200 – not a typo – two hundred. I predict there will be less than 100 elk in that herd next year
