WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said on Sunday the Middle East would be more stable if Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein were still in power in Libya and Iraq, saying it's "not even a contest".
Trump mentioned the countries in comparison to current efforts to drive Syrian President Bashar al-Assad out of power.
"You can make the case, if you look at Libya, look at what we did there, it's a mess," Trump said on NBC.
"If you look at Saddam Hussein with Iraq, look what we did there, it's a mess. It's going to be the same thing" in Syria, he said.
Asked by NBC's Chuck Todd if the Middle East would be more stable with Gaddafi and Saddam in power, Trump replied, "Of course it would be."

..but the U.N. and it’s proxies (U.S. under 0dunga) DOESN’T WANT “STABILITY” because the Caliphate THRIVES with CHAOS.
You are so right about the waste of lives & money. Absolutely nothing was accomplished.
We get involved in things that we really don’t understand. We project western values that have no place there.
Too bad I lost my first-born son in Iraq. He knew it would take at least 20 years to make a difference.
I'm sorry for your loss.
No man who ever put on a uniform can be faulted for the political malfeasance of the civilian leadership.
And for those who fell? They are the ghosts who torment the evil. They still serve.
The Bushes and the Saudis (Royal group) were as tight as butt buddies in an organization called the Carlyle Group...Big, big money was involved...No doubt the U.S. was steered in a direction that would benefit that group...
...... Ya .... it probably would ..... However since we did remove them from this earth ..... It would also be more stable if we completed the SASO and maintained a strong footprint and presence in the ME for a few generations instead of cutting and running like we did. We left a huge power vacuum that is being filled by the bad guys. By cutting and running there could have been no other outcome.
We now will have no choice but to deal with that region...There will be nukes from Lebanon to eastern Iran...And of course every other 3rd world country will obtain them...
My kid once wrote “Given a choice and an opportunity, I’d gladly do my part to “restructure” the commercial institutions that poison the society whose flag will one day be draped over my coffin. [/rant] “ I think he was about 19 at the time.

That was a bad one, but us stopping the Brits and French from curb-stomping Egypt over nationalizing the Suez canal in 1956 was probably worse.
One of the side effects of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq is that we wound up with sizable forces and bases on all sides of Iran. Even Azerbaijan had an arrangement with us for us to use their bases.
When certain politicians say that "under no circumstances" will Iran be allowed to have a nuke, I hope they understand what it is they are saying. I think most of us understand what that means. And if that comes to be the case, then for us to be in control on four sides of Iran would have been pretty important. Unfortunately, we've thrown away the strategic advantage we had and got nothing in return.
I agree with that.
Heck, we might just as well have an Islamic Caliphate here for all the good it does us having a Republican Congress.
Obama rules by E.O., and both parties fall in line behind him.
Kingdom seems to be all they understand. I could see sense in replacing Hussein with a Shah-type figure, but a democracy is going to be a joke.
Right on. The cult of Islam dictates their unquestioned obedience and that fits in nicely with a kingdom or tyrant or any combination of the two..
I said basically the exact same thing yesterday.
I do not watch TV but daily take advantage of all other possible methods of staying current, not surprising being a freeper in good standing like all of you.
Over time, I have saved and accumulated enough resources to travel and have available the means to direct my attention to whatever catches my attention. I still make many mistakes in judgement but strive to not be rude or damage anything or anyone close at hand. I also love my dog, Lucy
Please, I ask that you take a look at this August 2011 account found on youtube, one of my favorite information sources.

It's still great to be an American in America; may God bless us all.
Libya: NATO hit the Libyan Great Man Made River BREGA 22. july 2011
You gotta wonder why 0bama/NATO destroyed it. There were no "rebels" hanging around out in the desert around that project.
Instability seems to be what 0bama has been aiming for.
Yeah, this is exactly what I am talking about. Trump is fully aware of the positive benefits of helping encourage this project. It certainly would keep the natives on the reservation.
Ah no, the borrowing nation knew going in what the game was.
I would recommend stridently against buying into much of anything this guy offers up. He is a fellow traveler of Louis Farrakhan.
Here are some titles for his "education" services.
No freakin way!

So shia terror is better than Sunni terror?
