Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's newly released tax plan was given a blessing Monday by the nation's biggest anti-tax advocate, Grover Norquist, who said it would produce "jobs, jobs, jobs."
As Trump revealed his plan at a press conference, Norquist's influential Americans for Tax Reform released its review that Trump's plan is "consistent" with the advocacy group's "Taxpayer Protection Pledge."
ATR said that the Trump plan overall budget neutral, and reforms some of the current tax code.
On Twitter, Norquist wrote: "The @realDonaldTrump tax plan cuts business tax from 35% to 15%. This makes us competitive worldwide. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs."

It is based on my impression of markets and that I trade every day and the last few weeks just do not feel right. Today was really really weird from a liquidity standpoint.
All major markets around world down 20-40%.
This census information also very telling.
Yellen will never ever ever raise rates. Something very wrong.
Half the container fleet in China is in dry dock which means bad business for China and no one buying in America.
I could go on and on plus I have some colleagues who have been in these markets for 60 years and they are telling me same.
Hey, go easy on her, about all they have left is idiotic contention.
The technical look weak. Support breaking down everywhere. Moving averages being violated.
Dont kow if we’ll go as low as last time, but you’re right. The never ending QE is a bad sign.
this president is a disaster.
It is a feeling I get.
6 months ago trading was much much different.
Today was a disaster. Liquidity was really thin.
Options were very erratic like the market makers had no idea how to price them.
Right now until end of year I am shorting only. Nothing else.
I’ll admit up front that I should read through Trump’s tax plan (on his website) a couple time more. But... I don’t see much there regarding income determination, especially as regarding small businesses. Income determination is where a LOT of the current “complexity” problems reside, for those receiving other than a simple paycheck (or checks), a pension, SS, etc.
I suppose the operative term for me, here, is “lukewarm”, but I do like the idea(s) to stimulate business activity.
I’d prefer something along the lines of an end-user sales tax, myself, but Trump’s plan would not set me against him, at least not as I presently understand his plan.
Dont know what to do about the 401Ks for me and fiance. I wanted to switch to safety after 18,000 kept failing. But I guess those are for long term. Doesn’t mean I want to lose alot!!
I’m big on tech and I see this market being very weak if it breaks below 16000. There’ll be nothing to stop it until testing support at high 14000s. After that...
People don't seem to get the concept that an individual can be wrong on many if not most issues but still be right on some others. If a conservative candidate received an endorsement from an anti-abortion Catholic Bishop who is a welfare state liberal or an open borders enthusiast, would it make sense to reject that endorsement?
Yes.
NOW, abolish minimum wage, federal protection of unions and the tonnage of useless and wasteful and costly dead-end regulations, and we’ll be on our way.
You won’t have to worry about “fair” trade and tariffs because with those things in place, the market economy will be free to roll like a juggernaut.
Next: CUT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT - BY A LOT!!!
I understand you point.
Let me put my point another way:
We need someone to read Norquist out of the Conservative movement like Buckley did to the LaRouchites.
We can’t be having bedfellows who literally now or figuratively later (via Sharia) want to chop our heads off.
Conservatism needs Norquist GONE, or Norquist needs to clearly, consistently and loudly reject islamism. I have not heard that from him. If Norquist’s first and last words are not “while I am a muslim I disagree with all political islam”, then I don’t want to hear ANYTHING from another literal or figurative head chopper.
Housing also had a bad number today, and will get even worse as the market implodes, which I believe it will.
We need someone to read Norquist out of the Conservative movement like Buckley did to the LaRouchites.
I don't think I'd care for anyone who has a presumption to speak for who does or doesn't belong in the conservative movement, because "conservatism" means different things to different people. I dislike Norquist, but I equally strongly dislike much of the GOP establishment and the neoconservatives. Do I get to drum them out? If not, who does? The bottom line is that I can decide for myself whose views I agree or disagree with, I don't need an official spokesman like Buckley to tell me who is out and who is in.
Fair enough.
Have a great day!
That is not the impression I got from reading Comment #5. More, it seems like Norquist is trying to get on his good side and the poster was calling attention to his various connections with Islamic/Arab causes, which include his Palestinian wife. There are those who feel that Norquist has single handedly done more damage to our military with his NO NEW TAXES pledge that has been done by Al Qaida, ISIL and other terrorist groups.
“There are those who feel that Norquist has single handedly done more damage to our military with his NO NEW TAXES pledge that has been done by Al Qaida, ISIL and other terrorist groups.”
Wow. That’s not conservatism.
As we know, tax cuts increase revenues to the Treasury because more people are more motivated to work. Less welfare outflow, more taxable economic activity. This has been proved every time it is tried.
So only an uninformed right winger or a leftist would suggest tax cuts are bad for the military.
“No new taxes” forces the congress to cut spending elsewhere to get more funds to the military. And there is plenty of waste to cut, starting with Obamacare and working backwards from there. If they could simply raise taxes, there would be no impetus to cut. And without a strong motivation, nothing will ever be cut.
Donald...don’t go anywhere near Norquist.
Those who do usually end like Marco Rubio.
Cast onto the rubbish heap of corrupted politicians.
Great link ‘Tank. And to think the National Rifle Association allowed this POS Norquist to serve as a Board Member for a LONG time when they damn well KNEW all along of his continuing anti-American activities. Nice huh?
I guess I’m just prejudiced because I have had a son in 82nd Airborne and Special Forces who has served in Gulf War 1 and two tours in Afghanistan, who is still serving. And now my grandson has enlisted.
I happened to walk by TV today, and there’s our president addressing the UN and talking about the number one threat in this world.
CLIMATE CHANGE
I tore up my NRA membership a few years ago when they endorsed all the Democrat incumbents in NM.
... I wrote them a letter, as well.
