Ailes ‘Furious’ at National Review’s Lowry for Forcing Fox to Cede ‘Moral High Ground’ to Trump
breitbart.com ^ | 9/24/15 | Matthew Boyle

The Fox News Channel’s top executive, Roger Ailes, is “furious” at the National Review’s editor Rich Lowry for using foul language in an attack on GOP frontrunner billionaire Donald Trump on Wednesday evening, Breitbart News has learned.

An individual with knowledge of these matters told Breitbart News that Ailes is “furious” at Lowry for saying on Megyn Kelly’s program The Kelly File on Wednesday that former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina “cut [Trump’s] balls off with the precision of a surgeon, and he knows it, he knows it.”

Ailes is mad at Lowry because this move means, in the ongoing war between Fox News and Trump, Fox News has now “given up the moral high ground.” Essentially, Ailes understands, that means his network looks like the unfair aggressor that Trump has accused it of being—rather than a neutral arbiter of the news—all while Trump continues soaring in the 2016 GOP primary polls.

New York Magazine’s Gabe Sherman, the author of an anti-Ailes book, wrote on Thursday that the war between Trump and Fox News won’t end anytime soon.

“By now it should be clear to both sides of the Donald Trump–Fox News war that there never was — nor will there likely be — an enduring truce,” Sherman wrote.

Sherman’s piece came in response to the latest development, from Ailes, that Ailes has—after Trump decided that for now he will boycott Fox News shows in response to negative coverage of his presidential campaign—planned a meeting with Trump to discuss Fox’s coverage of him.

Two biitches slapping each other and Cruz still talking about the issues that will put America back on track.

Who do you want leading America?

Who do you want discussing issues with a foreign nation?

One that gets in the ditches with a news outlet or one that stays the course?

These are important questions and do not make the same mistakes that the Demonrats did for the last 8 years and regret it for the next 8 years.

Trump isn’t a career politician. He’s had to negotiate with tough characters, but he has never been subject to such verbal abuse.

A 30 year politician would shrug it off, but I know if people started saying bad things left and right about me, I’d be personally offended and hit back hard.

He is also very astute when it comes to business, but a little naive when it comes to the media still, I think. He might accept a truce. I hope advisers tell him not to. There are no votes to be gained at fox and they CANT treat him well because it’s against the owner’s interests.

After the embarrassing debate for fox (cnn was much more professional) they are the ones in trouble. Trumps doesn’t need them. To heck with them.

When did Ailes buy National Review? Lowry is entitled to his view and Fox airing it is not an endorsement so far as I can see.

I didn’t want to watch the Pope’s every move. I couldn’t understand him and from what I heard it was gibberish anyway. I even checked the Aljazeera channel and they were covering the Pope.

Anyone who doesn’t realize climate change is a hoax isn’t worth listening to. From what I understand he never mentioned the Lord Jesus or the fact that abortion was wrong or that Muslims should quit cutting off heads, but lets all stop using air-conditioning. If I wanted to hear such nonsense, I’d listen to Obama.

I still say Lowry just wanted to talk dirty around MeGYN because he figures she likes that kind of talk.

Fox is a fraud, and Megyn is a bimbo.

Yep... Megyn is what you get when you cross a bimbo with a lawyer

I will never, ever watch her again.

Well, I suppose that Fox News could always decide to simply report on the race without trying to skew it, but I’m not holding my breath.

I have long thought there were 2 facets to the Trump/Ailes relationship.

One, of course, is that what you see is real--there is a genuine feud underway.

But the other facet is more obscure and that is that there is a pro-wrestling quality to this feud.

Both Trump and Ailes benefit from the feud. As Trump has admitted many times in his books, ALL publicity--good and bad--is, in the end, good.

I'm not saying that the feud is choreographed (because I do think Fox is for any establishment candidate over Trump), but I do think there is a tongue in cheek quality about this matter.

Over the years, Trump has remained in the daily news in NYC by creating kerfuffles. And folks have always wonder if they were serious or theatrical. Maybe there's a little of both.

All of them have made total fools out of themselves. That said, FOX has gotten stale using the same ole people as pundits all the time.

I have found I don’t miss them much.

I have to say I am extremely disappointed in Fox AND at Kelly- I thought she was an up and coming top star there- and getting her own show proved it.

It took less than a few weeks to ruin it for herself.

Not going to happen. And it would be obvious to everyone that Fox News had bowed down to Lord Trump. Roger Ailes is not going to do that. So no need to hold your breath. Fox News will only give up on promoting Jeb when forced to do so and then it will be All-In-For-Marco 24/7.

If Trump makes peace a second time with Ailes and is burned again he is going to look foolish if not naive.

I don't believe so for Trump has powerful aces in the game that being he can stage powerful ratings grabbers on other networks at times that can hurt ratings of Fox News most popular hosts. AS well, Trump could also have his own Youtube channel do the same things against Fox or any other Network that gave him a really hard time.

If what's going on was likened to a card game such as five card stud then all the cards aren't drawn yet but of the ones that are drawn Trump has the best hand (cards showing) so far.

This will be a business decision between both of them. FOX needs the viewers watching trump to boost its ad sales. Trump needs the face time at FOX, within the bounds of fairness, to get his points across. They will come to some resolution.

Watched BOR for one of few times recently this week. First night I saw him try to walk Krauthammer back from his vicious unhinged attack on Trump with no success. Noted he seems to be an apologist for Trump. He has a lot of influence on what happens at FOX. Kelly was the heir apparent at FOX till her dust up and continued putting FOX in an untenable position with their dollar driver, TRUMP. I think the solution will be Kelly will be told to dial down the anti trump rhetoric and begin positive comments on her choices which seem to be Fiorina and perhaps Bush.

Well your card game analogy is quite apt.

And I agree that Trump seems to be holding the better cards. His interviews on MSNBC and CNN opposite O’Reilly and Megyn are going to hurt Fox.

So what will Roger do with his weak hand? That is, as they say, the question. We should know sometime next week.

There is no good answer to this that will make both of these guys happy.

There will either be a deal in which Trump comes out happy, or there will be no deal, because that's what makes Trump happier.

Exactly, all networks have a edit button to kill any unrehearsed vulgar comments. This comment was kept so was planned ?
It was a staged Disgraceful Foul Mouth attack and years ago everyone would have been FIRED .

Ailes has done Nothing but cry croc tears for another planned Trump attack that failed.
If Ailes was not in on the staged attack then Kelly and her Producer would have been Fired .
Lowry should have been fired immediately but NRO is now its just DC establishment front group and yellow rag employing foul mouth fools.
Poor Wm F Buckley hard work has been dragged into the gutter by these K street useful idiots.
