If You Live in These States You’ll Soon Need a Passport for Domestic Flights

If you don’t have a passport already, you may need to get one soon.

Residents of certain states are going to need to show their passports — rather than simply their IDs — even if they’re only flying domestic.

Yes, it will infringe upon states’ rights handed to them by the 10th Amendment and create unnecessary cost to taxpayers in order to implement the change, but let’s be real — the government doesn’t care about that.

From Zero Hedge:

To comply with the 2005 Real ID Act, which the U.S. government has been slowly implementing for the past decade, citizens in a number of different U.S. states will now be forced to obtain a passport if they want to board an airplane – even for domestic flights.

The Department of Homeland Security and representatives with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection have declined to comment on why certain states have been singled out, but starting in 2016, residents of New York, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and American Samoa will need a passport to fly domestically. All other states will still be able to use their state-issued driver’s licenses and IDs — for now, at least.

And yet, invaders from south of our border are not only granted entry without documentation by this administration, they are rewarded for doing it.

Well, Minnesota has all of the Somali refugees. Not sure what the story is for the other states.

The other states changed their drivers license to conform to the Real ID criteria.

These border states are probably using a new technique from the enhanced driver’s license that has been in place.

They will probably be using a passport card soon /not paper passport. Not sure, just guessing.

All Soviet jokes aside, is this passport requirement being imposed only on those states with substandard vetting for drivers’ licenses, or are their Muslim populations also a factor?

Old fact: Red Army conscripts who served only a single enlistment were shipped directly back to their villages upon mustering out.

However, if a Russian soldier completed a second enlistment, upon discharge he was issued an internal passport & could relocate anywhere inside the Soviet Union (some cities required residence permits).

"The other states changed their drivers license to conform to the Real ID criteria."

With the new drivers license data metrics, one might be better of with passport.

I’m sure if you agree to have an RFID implanted on your body, they’ll waive the passport requirement.

The list is missing a few liberal states that should also be quarantined.

American Samoa is now a state? Three more guaranteed electoral votes for the Democrat candidate in 2016?

Why haven't they added a star to the flag? They think the only option is a patter of 3 stars deep and 17 stars across?

But it’s racist to require an ID to vote.

California and the other states that dispense drivers licenses to illegals mark the license as non Real ID compliant. They can be used to drive but not board a plane or enter the federal courthouse
