Rowan Co. Clerk Kim Davis will stay in custody

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, a Democrat, will stay in custody.

It was a circus in Ashland today, as media, and protesters on both sides of the Kim Davis controversy came nose-to-nose outside the courthouse.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis appeared before U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning at 11:00 this morning, Bunning had her taken into custody finding her in contempt for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. Bunning told Davis that she would remain in jail until she complied with his order.

Davis said “thank you” and was taken from the courtroom by a U.S. Marshal. Davis was not taken out in handcuffs.

Judge Bunning then called Mrs. Davis’ six deputies into the courtroom, they were told they were free to issue licenses to all applicants while Davis was held in contempt, but if they did not comply they too would face fines or jail time.

Five of the six clerks said they would issue the licenses, the only one to hold out was Mrs. Davis’ son Nathan.

Judge Bunning was not done with Davis though, calling her back into court at 3:30 this afternoon, but Davis did not come. Instead she stayed in custody, her attorney appearing before the judge to tell him that she would not allow any employee to issue licenses in her absence.

Judge Bunning says he will keep Davis in jail for at least a week, and said “I hope that everyone will remain civil. This country has always had disagreements, but what makes this country different from other countries is that we respect the rule of law.”

The rule of law? When the law is taffy to be pulled in any direction by black-robed traitors there is no law.

Tom Jeff knew that if the rankest mischief were to happen, it would be most likely to happen there.

Unless they have her in a dungeon whipping her 24/7 or something gross like that, it’s hard to even imagine how. She’s getting moral support from all over America and her lawyer well knows it. She can tell that judge she’ll be there all her life if need be.

So she is thrown in jail because she won’t issue the licenses. Since they will not let anyone else issue the license only Kim who is doing it while she is in jail?

I agree. Exactly.

I was just wondering where courts think they get the authority to invalidate a State Constitution.

I was hoping the Clerk would state these points to the judge, and at least if not by herself, then by her attorney. Not that it would matter much, falling as it would on deaf ears.

Cordially,

I for one am glad she did not break. You know this is not going to end well. Not so much for her but for the left. They just made her a martyr.

Somewhere I once read that the Nazi brown shirts were homos.

That is true.

After Hitler was done with them he had them killed off by the SS.

He killed off Ernst Röhm, and I think others, but not very many of them. I've read accounts that most of the SS officer corp was homosexuals, and that they were recruited precisely because they could be extremely sadistic and counted on to do things no normal person would do.

Hitler's Brown Shirts, the dreaded SA, better known as "Storm Troopers," were the creation of another homosexual, Gerhard Rossbach, and Storm Troopers were almost exclusively homosexual. They also, sadly, comprised most of the leadership of the Hitler Youth, resulting in frequent instances of sexual molestation.

The Brown Shirts were Hitler's enforcers. According to Nazi historian Louis Snyder, Roehm recruited homosexuals into the SA because Roehm felt Germany needed "a proud and arrogant lot who could brawl, carouse, smash windows, kill and slaughter for the hell of it. Straights, in (Roehm's) eyes, were not as adept in such behavior as practicing homosexuals."

Historian H.R. Knickerbocker writes, "Roehm, as the head of 2,500,000 Storm Troops, had surrounded himself with a staff of perverts. His chiefs were almost without exception homosexuals. Indeed, unless a Storm Troop officer were homosexual, he had no chance of advancement."

It's hard to believe, but the Nazi history appears to have been "sanitized" by the mainstream press and Historians. They have even been labeled " Right Wing" and their very name means "National Socialism!" (NAationalsoZIalistische deutsche Arbeiterpartei)

They have been mostly distanced from any connection to homosexuality, or left wing Socialism, but they were both. We are facing the exact same immoral forces now as we did in the 1930s and 1940s.

"The rule of law? When the law is taffy to be pulled in any direction by black-robed traitors there is no law."

Indeed; the rule of law has become the rule by whoever has more power and the willingness to use force to enforce it. All parties had best remember that.

LAW?? Check your Constitution “judge”. Judges, even Supreme Court Justices, do not make LAW. The rule of law is made by legislators.

People said she would break today. God has converted her and given her greater strength in her new walk with Him than many life long “christians.”

I didn't expect her to break today, but I felt that three days would likely do it. I hope she has the force of will, and I hope she gains strength from hearing how much support she has.

I also hope this provokes a terrible backlash on these tyrants.

Conscientious objectors who oppose war on genuine religious grounds do not get thrown into federal slammers, not even for a day. This has been upheld in the U.S. since it's founding.

This little clerk is also steadfastly standing her ground for religious and conscience reasons. Yet she gets thrown in the local clink.

The Brown Shirt police state has arrived....it's been lurking all over the fruited plain for a long time.....but now it's openly and brazenly here with unconcealed bravado, supreme arrogance, unconstitutional force and an iron fist.

Was listening to Charles Stanley earlier this week. He was talking about God not forsaking us, even in what seems to be the darkest hours. He related the story of a Chinese man who was sent to prison because he would not denounce his Christian faith or Christianity. He spent 20 years in prison.

Seems like he was “forsaken.” But, what a testimony he had to his guards and to other prisoners. We can never know what the impact of that will be.

We will have to pray for this woman. And her family. And her son who is being torn apart right now.

Funny how the left wing media is tempering this by stating she is a democrat. Party affiliation has absolutely nothing to do with this matter.

The nearest women's facility (100 Miles) to Ashland would be the Federal Medical Center in Lexington Ky. or the Federal Prison camp in Alderson, WV. (200 Miles)(camp Cupcake of Martha Stewart fame). Odds are she will be housed in a state regional jail with a federal contract.

The other clerks can’t do anything if they get a serious case of week long flu. Being told to break the law would make me call in.
