BREAKING: Trump Likely to be BANNED from Future Republican Debates
Political INsider ^ | 21 AUG 2015 | TPIWriter

This report should make Donald Trump supporters angry! While taxpayers are often funding political debates, the Republican Party has the ultimate say over its own events. And while the GOP is supposed to stand for the principles of the Founding Fathers, it can be manipulated by the political establishment which can’t stand Trump’s conservative views.

The real reason why the GOP is focusing on Trump’s threat to run as a 3rd party candidate is it would give them grounds to boot him from future debates. The Republican Party, to protect its interests, is probably willing to boot the front-runner candidate. And they have savvy enough operatives, such as Karl Rove, who are ready to do it…

If the GOPe shuns Trump, and Trump runs as an independent, it might just be the beginning of the healing of the USA.

No more back room deals between R and D to secure their incumbency to the detriment of the nation.

When they (political class) agree to let congressmen run unopposed for playing political ball - that shorts circuits the election process.

When they re-district and fund opposition to change agents in congress (Allen West) they short circuit the election process.

It should be illegal.

Go Trump! (and Cruz)

“In an interview with Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Priebus stressed the importance of party loyalty, saying that potential Republican nominees must “agree that a Republican would be better than a Democrat running on the other side and that you wouldn’t run as a third party.””

“RNC Chairman Reince Priebus reportedly asked all the Republican candidates “to pledge that they will not make a third-party run” and hinted that “[t]hose who do not pledge might not get an invite to future Republican candidate debates.”

“Well, no one ever accused Rove of being intelligent.”

Actually, there was a time when many Freepers thought he was a genius.

Regardless, this would be stupid beyond belief. It would be a death warrant for the Republican Party.

That [1968] was the first presidential election I was old enough to vote in (age 23). I was asked to and did serve as an observer in our little town’s polling place, I helped illiterate people vote, many black people from outlying farm areas, who voted straight democrat ticket.

In a district that usually voted overwhelmingly democrat, the vote wound up being split equally three ways. Yes, Wallace on the ballot pulled a lot of votes from Humphrey.

I remember that election vividly. In a race that tight, the little things, the imponderables become factors that can tip the election one way or the other, and I've heard it said more than once that Nixon choosing to appear on 'Rowan & Martin's Laugh In' with his famous line "Sock it ... to ME?" not only mellowed his image with the voters who saw that he could poke fun at himself, but the fact that Vice President Hubert Humphrey refused to appear on 'Laugh In' (Rowan & Martin offered him 'equal time') because Humphrey didn't think it would look 'dignified'.

Had HHH gone on the tube and laughed it up, who knows what might have happened. Humphrey was one of the few remaining pro-defense Democrats, a strong defender of the 2nd Amendment (proud member of the NRA too), his election as President would have been 'interesting'.

Then Trump goes 3rd party and we get HRC as POTUS? Is the GOP really that stupid?

Yes, the GOPe is that stupid. In their minds, HRC would be a more acceptable alternative than Trump.

Trump should announce he will hold an online streaming reply to any televised debate. He will answer the questions in real time and he will offer comment and ridicule the moderators who choose to ask idiotic questions. I bet a Trump online broadcast would outdraw the televised version.

I WOULD PAY TO WATCH IT!

“Rove should have shot his wad in GOP circles by now”

-—The only ones propping up Karl Rove is...SHOCK....Fox News. If the GOP is stupid enough, and I think they are, to try this scheme then it will draw a backlash like they have never seen. If they thought the Tea Party was pissed off in 2010...they are in for a REAL surprise. Also, if the GOP did this, Trump would be totally justified in going 3rd Party...and much of the base would follow Trump — I definitely would!

I don’t recall their being a rule in the republican handbook about pledges being taken in public asked by neutral news network moderators.

Anyone recall that section?

Trump will be allowed in every debate until he drops out.

Not only that, but I've heard that Karl Rove will agree to Trump being in every debate until he leaves the Presidency on January 20, 2025 and Vice President Ted Cruz is sworn in as the next President of the United States.

"What a Country!!" :)

The CNN news network is televising the next GOP debate on Sept. 16 from the Reagan Library in CA....a little over three weeks from now.

The candidates, including Trump, have agreed to be there, have marked their campaign calendars and travel plans accordingly and have been making many preparations and scheduling plans prior to their appearances on that date.

To boot, CNN is already licking its chops in anticipation of its ratings for the events, and undoubtedly has been selling ad time at higher rates. And it's patently clear that "no Trump", no huge advertising revenue.

If Trump is banned, it seems to me that both Trump and CNN would have ample grounds for tremendous lawsuits against the RNC-e. Prince Rebus and his national committee minions are treading on very dangerous grounds here. They appear to be embarking on a mano a mano contest with the Donald in order to appear to be as tough as he.

Isolating and banning the leading Republican primary contender no matter who he/she is smacks of strong arm, fascist tactics.

With the RNC now insanely personalizing the GOP primary, nothing but chaos, warfare and defeat will follow.

Trump is firing the shot heard around the world to end this uncontrolled immigration. Already in Europe they are starting to go Trump and push back against this world wide problem.

The Whigs made a fatal mistake, it appears the RNC is planning to do the same.

CNN would host Trump to take viewers from a competator

Karl Rove is not a "savvy" operative. He has the analytic power of lichen on the shady side of a rock. It was his folly that almost elected Al Gore in 2000; his folly that lost Congress in 2006. He is locked into studying past attitudes; not in recognizing how to change those attitudes.

He failed to seize one of the greatest political opportunities in American history, on the eve of the 2000 election, in not having Bush take advantage of the opportunity for a huge potential TV audience that could have been generated in response to the media's weekend before the voting smear. (It was over a DUI, in Bush's youth, and any amateur could have figured out how to turn it to advantage. For openers, much of the audience would have been Gore supporters, hoping to watch Bush squirm; so that he could only gain from the exposure, if instead of surming, he had described his vision for a better America.)

Especially delicious would be the camera panning the crowd, watching Donald on their smartphones, and ignoring the speakers. Make it cell-friendly, people! Mobile outnumbers desktop; get with the times!
