Trump: Deport children of immigrants living illegally in US

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump wants more than a wall to keep out immigrants living in the country illegally. He also wants to end "birthright citizenship" for their children, he said Sunday. And he would rescind Obama administration executive orders on immigration and toughen deportation, allowing in only "the good ones."

Trump described his expanded vision of how to secure American borders during a wide-ranging interview Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press," saying that he would push to end the constitutionally protected right of any family living illegally inside the U.S. ...

I would trust a President Cruz to nominate the right kind of justices that this country needs. I would not trust Trump to do the same.

Right. It amazes me on how many conservative picks for SCOTUS turn liberal, but never the other way around.

I don’t see that in his position paper. If they apply according to the law, then it could be quite a while, if ever, before they get back. I have actually issued visas and I can say without reservation that most of them would not even qualify for a tourist visa let alone a permanent immigration visa.

Screw the GOP because their NWO top candidates aren’t making the cut with the plebs.

I’m all for the mass deportations of illegal border jumpers since the issue became a problem.

Oh...and I’m “Hispanic” if you can even accurately define it.

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” With some exceptions in case law for diplomats and such, the US Supreme Court continues to support birthright citizenship.

There are a couple of angles here on why a Supreme Court decision wouldn't have the final say:

  1. That inconvenient phrase and subject to the jurisdiction thereof isn't just there for cosmetic purposes.
  2. One of the exceptions in case law for diplomats and such also include children born to invading armies (for obvious reasons) and those born to foreign nationals here on tourist visas.

    It is a long stretch to argue that children born of foreign parents legally present in the country on non-resident visas have inferior claim to citizenship that those born of foreign parents illegal present, but we've seen the supreme court twists the law anyway which happens to be fashionable at the moment.

    Congress does, however, have the power to reorganize the courts or to even declare certain topics such as birthright citizenship, off limits to them.

    Mexico also makes it clear by what they teach in their own school classrooms that they consider the territory ceded in the Mexican War to be null and void and they encourage colonization of the area as part of a reconquest. That makes their colonization a defacto invading army.

That judgment is based on a SCOTUS decision regarding the 14th Amendment.

Thanks guys for clearing that up.....I forgot the Constitution gives the Supreme Court the power of Naturalization.

This is another stupidly worded Amendment that is DELIBERATELY being misinterpreted.

One can say that it was poorly worded, but it is what it is.

Aliens in the Unites States illegally are still subjects of a foreign power.

But they are subject to U.S. laws, unless they are protected by diplomatic status.

England makes it clear that children of NON-CITIZENS ARE NOT BRITISH CITIZENS.

Great Britain doesn't have a 14th Amendment.

If your circumstances are more complicated, you can get more information about British citizenship.

I am positive that I don't qualify for British citizenship in any form so I don't think I'll need the link you so thoughtfully provided.

Children of citizens of other nations are subject to the jurisdiction of those other nations, not our own.

So you are saying that if they break the law here then they cannot be arrested, tried, and jailed?

...and why a person can be held accountable for breaking a US law while in another country, because it is the nation of citizenship which has the jurisdiction over the individual.

I believe you are mistaken in that. If I rob a bank in the U.S. and flee to Canada then sure, Canada can arrest me and extradite me to the U.S. because that's were the crime was committed. But if I rob a bank in Canada then I'll be arrested, tried, and jailed in Canada and not the U.S. because Canada has jurisdiction.

You know I disagree with the Supreme Courts interpretation of the 14th Amendment right? I just want to clear that up because I have people coming at me as if I agree with it.

I do not believe the 14th Amendment was ever envisioned to grant citizenship to hordes of illegal aliens swarming across the border. But that is how it is being interpreted, and we don’t have the votes on the court to change that right now.

So okay, do you think Congress is going to declare the issue of birthright off limits to the Supreme Court? I mean, really, do you see that happening? Do you see the Legislative and Executive telling the Supreme Court to sod off? I’d be fine with that, but I know it won’t happen on this issue. In the absolute best of circumstances I doubt you could get even half of the Republicans to go along for political reasons.

So with that in mind the constitutional amendment is pretty much out too. What’s left? I can only see a change in the court balance reversing the birthright citizenship opinion held by the court and accepted as law by the other 2 branches of government. We’d need 4-5 of judges. That you might be able to get through if we had a large enough Senate majority to go for it (we would need a majority of Republicans that would vote for such nominees and that assumes we get rid of the filibuster for Supreme Court appointments) and the Executive branch they could simply approve the President’s nominations even if some of the judges positions weren’t popular in the polls. Basically Senators might be willing to let Judges do the proverbial “dirty work” that they’d never do themselves.

I just don’t see birthright citizenship overturned any other way. If you can see a different way of accomplishing this, something realistic, by all means tell me.

Trump is a loose cannon who is selling a deal as that is what he does. His language is on a third grade level as rated by speech pathologists. That is his communication level. Others, such as his lawyers, write his deals.

I think he will blow up at some point and it’s true his numbers are going down. He would be a catastrophe as president as he has no inner compass - anything goes. He apparently thinks he can do whatever he wants as president - just like the one we have now. The present King we have needs to go and we can’t abide another King. The trouble with Kings, is, they CAN do whatever they want and the subjects will suffer in the long run.

I won’t post on anymore Trump threads after this, as many think he is the “greatest” as Trump himself says he is the “greatest” everything, but I hope Ted Cruz will rise to the top and he is headed that way as today’s polls show.
