Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body. I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare. A more complete public statement will be made when facts are known, possibly next week.

All of the things you knew as a Sunday school teacher will come in pretty handy right now, Jimmah.
Sorry to hear this as much as I dislike the guy. God be with him and his family.
My Dad had colon cancer that spread to the liver, he lived one year..since Carter’s cancer started in his liver and has spread to other organs, I give him 2-3 months tops
I can tell you from the painful experience of losing my wife to cancer...if it’s spread and involved in his liver he should not waste any time with treatments. Just get his affairs in order and get right with the Lord.
Politics aside;
It will be difficult for him and his family.
Hope his long life has prepared him for this final leg of his journey and gives his family courage and comfort.
La bouche est completement ferme.
The guy is 90 so one advantage is that cancer grows much more slowly in someone this old. Still, not good news.
I wish him well.
I never thought Jimmy a bad man, just a lousy President. I hope he doesn’t suffer like some in my family.
Good to see that only as couple of
freepers are acting like DemonRATS.
Time for DC to start planning another state funeral. I bet the Democrats are desperate to top the Reagan funeral, but will the people turn out for Carter?
They tried to recreate the hype for Ted Kennedy's funeral, but the procession took so long that it was dark when they got to Arlington and nobody could see anything at the cemetery.

Just so you know Jimmy, our nation has had cancer too since the mid 70s. The prognosis isn’t good, but it may survive. If it can get past the next 18 months, we may just make it.
For the record, I really don’t care what’s going on in your life. You can cancel the updates.
I would only wish for you the same treatment you as a Christian saw to it the Shah of Iran got, when he had cancer.
He didn’t last very long, thanks in part to you.
He’s 90. His siblings all died much younger from equally horrible things. Genetically at least he drew the long straw.
Sometimes at age 90, your time is up.
Not a good prognosis...............
One thing about Carter was that if it weren’t for the Iranian hostage crisis and the poor way he dealt with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, he stood a chance to get a second term as President. Already, he had shown signs of turning increasing conservative by 1980, especially with the ending of price controls on petroleum and an increased defense budget.
Sorry to hear this. While I find his positions on policy and other issues problematic, he is a child of God and I don’t wish pain or suffering on anyone.
The thing is that in the 90s, when he lived a quiet life working for Habitat for Humanity, most people even on the right saw him as a decent man that was just in over his head as president, and wished him no ill will.
But the past decade saw him turn into a nasty old jackass that pitched his southern upbringing and went full retard.
2nd most horrible president of modern times.
