MARK LEVIN: FOX NEWS, MEGYN KELLY ‘HOSTED A NATIONAL ENQUIRER DEBATE, NOT A REPUBLICAN DEBATE
Breitbart ^ | August 9,2015 | Robert Wilde

Posted on 08/09/2015 1:34:52 PM PDT by Hojczyk

Levin asserted, “I think that we were all duped. The fact of the matter is that this was a ratings gambit.”

Levin claims that “We the people” were overlooked in the debate, and the event became a media spectacle with more emphasis on the show’s moderators than on discussing the important issues that face America. “Even today, it’s all about who has Megyn Kelly’s back. We the people, this is our process. We don’t get that many opportunities to go through the primary process. There are only nine debates,” he said.

“The Great One” pointed out that Fox had an opportunity to host one of these important debates, “And they took advantage of us, they took advantage of the audience.” Levin explained that Kelly”s “question two,” accusing Donald Trump of making inappropriate comments to Rosie O’Donnell and others, “was outrageous.” Levin suggested that Fox went to great lengths to engage in “oppositional research” on Mr. Trump.

“This isn’t a matter of who I support but a matter of basic fairness

Levin complained that Fox sifted through 185 shows and 14 seasons of Trump’s Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice to come up with “a line that they had to take out of context about some lady on her knees. He didn’t tell her to get on her knees, They brought it up to him. He responded to it, but not in a sexual context.”

The conservative author expressed sincere disgust with Megyn Kelly for pointing to that incident as an example of misogyny. Levin said that Kelly was a “lawyer, she was law review, and she should know better.” He admitted that he blames Fox News management more than Kelly for the outrageous question. He said Fox turned the gathering into a “National Enquirer Debate, and not a Republican Debate.”

I do find it funny that we wanted fox because they are conservative after last round of MSM. Maybe in order to be happy, we need to do debates with people and now t networks. Have mark, hannity and rush do a debate. I thought except for the second question to trump, the questions were better then other debates.

The spectacle they labeled as a debate seemed to confirm what others have said for a long time: FoxNews is not really a legitimate news channel.

The moderators fed into that contention.

They spent most of their time trying to land ‘gotcha’ questions rather than asking questions that would elicit information for the viewers.

FoxNews is as giddy as the pre-debate moderators that they got 24 million viewership. However, most of those 24 million witnessed a media fiasco. I doubt FoxNews gained many converts.

Well stated. The fact that Kelly took the statement out of context and deliberately falsified it was inexcusable. She actually came off worse than Candy Crowly. She wanted the whole debate to be about her, not the issues. Her question to Cruz about God was even worse.

The Three Stooges turned this into a circus when it could have been a professional and fair debate. They and FOX lost credibility. Now all the talk is about trivial comments regarding Trump - this at a time when the nation is faced with major issues.

Nobody asked Jeb about Terri Schiavo, his links to Osorio and love for Mexico and illegal aliens.

"This is a process that belongs to us… People tuned in to watch the candidates debate, not to watch Megyn Kelly… I’m sick and tired of the dumbing down of very crucial issues.

We know this country is going over a cliff, and we want to do something about it."
~Mark Levin

“Trump should just skip them...”

I have wondered how long he would continue to participate in “debates”.

I’m not sure how many I will watch.

I am wondering if mark Levin is just reading the tea leaves on this. if he felt this way about the debates he should of come out the very next day on his radio show instead of waiting for reaction of the masses

I sent the Brietbart article to Trump on twitter. It is true that the American people lost out on this circus of a debate.

No I get the point and agree with it. But it’s still a fact that rating is what media is about, his show and the rest included and if ANYONE expected a modern news outlet on cable TV to do anything BUT put on a show, they are kidding themselves.

Why do so many people want Rush and Levin as moderators? Because they want to see a show. They want to see ‘their guys’ perform. Not that they want a fair debate. Is that not the case? Who wants to dent the thrill of seeing a RINO eviscerated?

If people wanted a debate, there would not be celeberty moderators and the attention would be on the debaters.

But thats bad for ratings.

He’s right, but the 20 plus million didn’t watch because of Kelly, they arrived due to Trump and Cruz.

Download the show and listen to it. He was very upset the following day echoing the same things he said to Breitbart.

I didn’t care for the debates myself. The very first question was telling for what was to come.

or,

this press conference framed as a debate, cleared the air of all the detrimental baggage of all the candidates and puts all of those issues aside

the rocks and shoals are removed and the candidates all have clear sailing

it is clear that conservatives wanted their candidates asses kissed and others mostly Jeb trashed. That didn’t happen and there is a temporary uproar that will pass with time

it will become clear that what was percievied was not that which was
