BREAKING: Ohio Makes Announcement That Should Put Trump 3rd Party Fears to Rest Permanently
The Conservative Review ^ | Aug. 8, 2015 | Staff

Posted on 08/08/2015 9:43:36 PM PDT by z taxman

According to “sore loser” laws in the state of Ohio, any candidate who has chosen their party essentially can’t, at the last minute, run on a third-party ticket in the state.

With Ohio being a crucial swing state, that’s a massive hurdle for team Trump to overcome, should they wish to run a third-party candidacy in the future.

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted and his spokesman, Joshua Eck, have already decided that due to the fact Trump “voluntarily participated” in the Republican primary debate in the state of Ohio, he’s already declared himself a Republican in the eyes of Ohio law and “chosen a party for this election cycle.”

Legal experts said that mounting a third-party run is a daunting, close-to-impossible, expensive challenge, according to USA Today.

Trump, should he proceed with his third-party option, would likely have to challenge laws like Ohio’s “sore loser” law in court, mount massive grassroots campaigns in all 50 states to get on the ballot and spend even more of his own money in a process that political experts believe would hand the election to Democrats on a silver platter.

But then again, this is Donald Trump — a candidate who has single-handedly changed the campaign in a matter of a few months.

His fierce anti-establishment platform has garnered unprecedented support from what his campaign calls a “silent majority,” so it’s really not a surprise that he’s insistent on using his third-party threat as leverage — that’s what deal-makers do.

What are your thoughts? Sound off on Facebook and Twitter if you think Trump would be foolish to run on a third-party ticket or if you think he should continue to use it for leverage against the establishment.

I’ve been saying Trump should start demanding the other candidates say whether or not they’ll support him if he’s the nominee. I hope some advising him to do that.

Apparently you have to be here a certain length of time before you’re allowed to post your opinion. I have no idea how long that is. But be prepared to be cut to shreds when someone calls you a “noob”. That’s so painful!

At the least, new elections laws can only take effect next cycle.

He’s never going to run.
What is he doing right now? Did history begin for you when you woke up today.

Using your idiocy. For some unknown reason that maybe only you have the answer to, Trump and 16 other people not running for President had a debate on Thu. .

But if he were the nominee,
Now you contradict yourself. How can he be a nominee if he never runs?...You're talking (and maybe walking) in circles.

Just snarky hatred and name calling isn't making your case. Sadly, the harder you try, the more foolish you look.

What is he doing right now?

The election is a long way off. he is just getting attention, as he had many times before. It's what he does. And you claim you don't know that? What next, you are going to be surprised if Bill Clinton lies or cheats on Hillary?

I used "if" and "were." In the English language, an unreal conditional sentence expresses events that are hypothetical or contrary-to-fact

I am just trying to present the facts. Your argument that Trump is a conservative is based on pure fantasy. First of all, he says things just for attention. He has a history of being untruthful about just this kind of thing. Second, he is a social liberal, and fiscally he’s even more liberal. He supports weaponized amnesty that would take away jobs from U.S. citizens. He can’t explain the conservative position on a single issue.

Who did you used to be before you took on the whole ‘windflier’ persona?

Perhaps my judgement of you was premature. That's actually a pretty typical ignorant newbie comeback.

But then again, if you're truly a seasoned retread (as I suspect), you know how to expertly pose as a dumb noob to throw us off the scent. Very clever.

By the way, the next time you type my name, capitalize it, noob.

I think there is a strong argument that until Donald has participated in a primary which is official that he is not covered by the sore looser law.

Are there any laws forbidding him from changing his party after he's elected?

Could a person get elected as a republican president, then switch parties and become a democrat after being sworn in?

...”So if a candidate runs on one ticket, then gets asked to run as representative of another party, this law would prevent that?

I can’t count the number of ways that this shreds the constitution.”...

YES!

“Legal experts said that mounting a third-party run is a daunting, close-to-impossible, expensive challenge, according to USA Today.”

Trump wouldn’t be running 3rd party to win; he’d be doing it to hand his good friend Hillary the election. “Art of the deal,” you know.

...”The Dems will roll out their standard GOP are the party of the big business stereotypes and a vanilla nominee like Walker or Bush won’t be able to stop it. We’ve seen this movie before. It has a bad ending for conservatives.”...

Yes. The rich and the media will not relinquish power and control to the people. To his credit, Donald Trump, whatever he thought in the past, looked up to see that we are losing our country to the power mongers in government with their plan to disintegrate this nation however they have to. He has spent his life getting wisdom about the corruption in NYC and across the world in business deals. He knows their methods and their madness and he knows how to deal with them. But, the ignorant in politics, though they have destroyed almost all that is good in America, still are horrified at losing that control to someone who might be able to save her. They would rather see our form of government die than to give up their power. Yes, Donald looked a bit sour during that debate. Why wouldn’t he? He knew he was mostly surrounded by enemies of freedom, his and ours. Megyn Kelly came out with her radical feminist side, the “war on women” to try and take down Donald. The others pounced. To their credit, the men on stage did not attack for the most part, for most, if not all, know that this may be the last time America will get to vote for freedom vs tyranny.

...”Not a dimes’ worth of difference between Jeb and Hillary anyway, so who cares if Trump runs third party?”...

That may be right. Have we forgotten the close relationship between Bill Clinton and the Bush family, and, particularly the elder Bushes? He has practically become one of their own..A son. Jeb and George call him “a brother by another mother.” He calls Barbara Bush, “Mom.” The dynasties have merged. That relationship cannot be ignored.

Yes, but has Trump already “officially” announced by filing paper work in the state?

What is that deadline? I bet it has not been reached yet.

By the time the deadline has been reached, the decision may already be made.
