I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in his run for the Presidency.
He is not a professional politician and is known for being a blunt talker. He connects with so much of the anger in the Republican base and is not afraid to be outspoken on a lot of issues. But there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross.
Decency is one of those lines.
As much as I do personally like Donald Trump, his comment about Megyn Kelly on CNN is a bridge too far for me.
In a CNN interview, Mr. Trump said of Megyn Kelly, “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.”
It was not the “blood coming out of her eyes” part that was the problem.

I think that is true. And I’ve been very sympathetic to Donald Trump because so many of the people who have led the party astray refuse to even treat him as a legitimate candidate.
But I also think that while Mr. Trump resonates with a lot of people with his bluntness, including me to a degree, there are just real lines of decency a person running for President should not cross.
His comment was inappropriate. It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him. But I just don’t want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong.
I have invited Megyn Kelly to attend in Donald Trump’s place tomorrow night.

redstate “disinvites” The Donanld is a BIG story? Really? Almost no one except die-hard conservatives even know redstate exists: they’re ranked only number 36 for conservative websites by alexa, and I think only about 900 people were slated to attend this event. That the main stream media plays up an organization that “disinvites” Trump that none of them has even heard of before tells you how desperate they are to prevent someone they can’t control from being President. Next thing you know, the media will be howling because Trump has been “disinvited” from the dogcatchers convention.
BTW, if Trump were REALLY smart, he’d invite all the disenchanted redstate ticket holders to a Trump event just for them and at Trump’s expense AND invite the other candidates to attend to boot.
The press would go wild talking about this for days and the people would go wild for Trump doing stuff like this.
In fact, every time Trump is dissed, he should do something like this. He can afford it and the publicity would be priceless. Not only should Trump say things that are outside of the box, he should run a campaign that’s outside of the box. He can get away with because people are expecting it, the press can’t help themselves from giving it publicity, and the other candidates are stuck in traditional campaign ruts from which they cannot escape.

Yep. And note the final size of his leper list—it has just one name left on it—Nicolle Wallace. At one time in late 2008, it had about 8-10 names on it, but he has since removed those.

If that president is GOPe, you may as well prepare yourself for disappointment since a Bush or Kasich will not do the right thing once in office, i.e. they will not reverse any of what Obama has done. There is always an excuse handy for the GOPe types, which is why that kind of candidate no longer gets my vote.
Jamie Dupree must have some compromising photos of Atlanta radio personalities (of which Hannity was one until moving to NYC). Dupree could be interviewed at 3:00 PM in the blazing August sunshine and hear it suggested that it is hot outside, and he would whine "Well, Sean/Neal/Herman/Erick, some people would argue that it is hot outside. But they made the same argument back when the Democrats were in charge, so there's a case to be made by either side." Listening to Jamie Dupree actually makes you dumber for having wasted the time.
