Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.
"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so, he said. ... I don't bring God into that picture."
Trump said that while he hasn't asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.
"When I drink my little wine - which is about the only wine I drink - and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed," he said. "I think in terms of 'lets go on and let's make it right.'"

uh..........gee.........maybe
...........sarcasm??????????????
Frank Luntz needs to apologize for his badgering of Trump. He obviously didn’t like him and was looking to trip him up and did. It was a gotcha interview.
My guess he is finding polling data on Trump that scares him.
Pray America is waking
Where did I ever say he was Catholic?
It is common knowledge that he is Presbyterian.
Just because he is Presbyterian doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the Catholic vote locked up with those choice of words. /s.
+1.
Yep. Bigotry R Us. ;)
Assuming FR is a representative cross-section of conservatives - all you have to do is do a sample of the people who refused to vote for a Mormon. The threads here were rampant, and quite livid. His faith played a key role in the conservative vote - his qualifications didn’t matter. He was beat out by a “Community Organizer”, with no leadership experience in either business, or government.
Just a simple question - would we be better off with Romney in the White House? I would say “Yes, we would”.
PREACH, BROTHER!
Did anyone ask this of Obama?
I honestly don’t care that much about this....I want someone who will enforce the laws of this country, close the border, quit telling us how horrible we are and we’d better pay up or else, and quit selling us out to every other country who wants something (money) from us.
I am so fed up.....I don’t care if he calls a cracker a cracker.
It is common knowledge that Trump is a Presbyterian.
Just because he is Presbyterian doesn’t mean he won’t lock up the Catholic vote.
Those words he used will lock up the Catholic vote. /s.
I think we are talking about church here and whether Trump is a Christian. Nothing else. If you have been going to church your whole life there is no reason for anyone to say you are not a Christian.
Knowing your posting history Norm, there isn't much that doesn't offend you.........
With the exception of a candidate claiming to be a Muslim, I could care less about crackers and wine.
You should be more concerned about love offerings, prayer towels, talking in tongues and pedophilia. Those are definite turn offs to me..................
You mention how the left fights to keep religion out of our government, schools, society, but how compelled they are to introduce the topic if they think it can provide them a GOTSHA” moment?
Trump provided the words. Is he a leftist?
Hot Air ran this piece on Trump’s words on their website.
Are they leftist?
stay cool in the north country !
Well you can say it. It does not make it so. He is afterall the father of Gay marriage in America, Obamacare, multiple liberal justices on the Mass court, a massive spender and a guy that wants to appease Muslims.
FR does not represent conservatism now more than ever with all the libs posting since the 12 election runup. I wish that would change.
Well at least I am a PROUD WACKO BIRD!!!
“Repentance and atonement go further than words, IMO”
I agree with you. Also some people don’t feel as comfortable talking about their faith as others. Crikes Huck and Santorum will bleed in the sand on TV. Its not necessary.
Offensive—you bet.
I thought there was a cease and desist on Catholic bashing issued yesterday.
Well you must be in the minority of Catholics then. Most Catholics tossed away their principles a long time ago. Whether it's divorce, birth control, abortion, no meat on Fridays, etc., etc., most Catholics show up in church on Sundays (if they show up at all) in shorts and sneakers and do what they damn well please the rest of the week, despite what the Vatican says.
Speaking of the Vatican, even the Pope is now yapping about "global warming" and saying that "unfettered" capitalism is a sin or some such nonsense.
If that's seen as Catholic-bashing, it's not my intent. But being how the standards have fallen so far, I don't see anybody getting worked up about communion being referred to as a little wine and a little cracker.
That conspiracy theory has been proffered. Romney being Mormon did not cost him the election. Being a RINO is what cost him the election.
