Stone Mountain is a cultural thing. This would be a VERY bad thing. We cannot deny history. I imagine there could be nastiness over this.

Also, Stone Mountain is not racist. It honors men who led the defense of their country. Honoring them was part of the national healing as Union and Confederate war vets met together in the time period from 1913 to 1938 to celebrate their service on the long settled Civil War, as brothers once again.
A commemorative coin was struck in 1925 by the US Mint to help raise funds to complete it.
Therefore the US government is complicit in Stone Mountain.
Shall we sandblast all of DC as well?
