Just one voter showed up to Rick Santorum's campaign stop at a restaurant in Hamlin, Iowa, on Monday, according to Politico.
With a population of 300, Hamlin eventually saw four Iowans assembled around the 2016 Republican hopeful's table where they munched on breaded tenderloin and a side of onion rings, Politico reported.
Santorum told The Des Moines Register he wasn't surprised by the low turnout it was all part of the plan.

Kind of, but without the gravy on top and made with pork.

I see that Mr. Personality has hit the road to meet and greet um....well....what is the singular form of crowd?

It’s a Midwest thing. Properly done they’re excellent. I have friends that have moved away and the first thing they want when they visit is a tenderloin.

We have some awesome breaded tenderloins here in Hoosierland. Some places they are as big as a dinner plate. Add some pickle, mustard and onions and if you’re lucky, you’re not full by the time you get nibbled around the edges to get to the bun.

How do wannabees like Santorum pay for their campaign events and travel expenses? Has Congress written hidden laws to have taxpayers provide money somehow? He needs to get a job to support his family.

At least he didn’t have to pay the person to show up like the she-devil, did he?

campaign got stuck with the tab or if everyone paid their oan?I think that would technically be a violation of campaign finance laws and regulations if he paid for their lunches. I can see the headlines now: Santorum campaign rocked by allegations of massive vote tampering: 'He paid for everyone's lunch at a campaign stop one time!' -unnamed source
To: CrazyIvan
My sis is the same way. Whenever she visits from CA, she always insists on going to a local drive-in/restaurant here that has one of the best tenderloins in the state.
The small one the fix is huge, the big one takes a mighty hearty appetite.

Maybe it's time to start a pool -- dates for declaring, dates for dropping out...
Here are the hopefuls, by party, some have declared, there may be some I've forgotten to list, I've boldfaced my two (and only two) favorites and put strikes through the unacceptable candidates (that could grow):
Pubbies (seven declared, up to four more within a week or so):
- Ben Carson [declared]
- Bobby Jindal (gov of LA)
- Carly Fiorina [declared]
Chris Christie (gov of NJ) Donald Trump- George Pataki
Jeb Bush- John Kasich (gov of OH)
Lindsey Graham [declared] - Marco Rubio [declared]
Mike Huckabee [declared] Peter KingRick Perry [declared] Rick Santorum- Sarah Palin
- Scott Walker
- Ted Cruz [declared]
other possible candidates:
- Brian Sandoval
- Jim Gilmore
- Kelly Ayotte
- Mike Pence
- Mitch Daniels
- Nikki Haley (gov of SC)
- Susana Martinez (gov of NM)
|
Here are some combos that make sense to me at this time:
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Donald Trump
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Carly Fiorina
- Ted Cruz, with running mate John Kasich
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Peter King
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Ben Carson
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Mike Huckabee
- Scott Walker, with running mate Susana Martinez
- Scott Walker, with running mate Marco Rubio
- Scott Walker, with running mate Brian Sandoval
- Scott Walker, with running mate Ben Carson
- Scott Walker, with running mate Nikki Haley
- Scott Walker, with running mate Carly Fiorina
- Scott Walker, with running mate Kelly Ayotte
- Scott Walker, with running mate Peter King
|
Demwits (4 declared, rest possible or probable):
Bernie Sanders (I-VT) [declared] Bill A.K.A. DeBlasioElizabeth WarrenHillary Clinton [declared] Lincoln Chafee [declared] Martin O'MalleyRand Paul [declared] other possible candidates:
Amy KlobucharAndrew CuomoBrian SchweitzerDennis KucinichJim WebbJoe BidenKirsten GillibrandMark Warner |
