Don't expect your doctor to stand up and protest about how the Affordable Care Act is responsible for so many of the health care problems that patients face today.
As a physician and a dentist in private practice, we have spent the past five years making the case that the ACA is harming our patients. While we get many varied and complex questions from them, the one question always asked is a simple one, but one with a more complex answer: "Why aren't more doctors speaking out?"
The primary reason is fear. Doctors are afraid of their new bosses — bureaucrats and their corporate employers whom the ACA empowered.
Thanks to the ACA, many physicians who have practiced as small employers have been forced to leave private practice to become corporate employees (a number that now represents more than 50% of all physicians). For physicians in this position, public advocacy against the ACA could be in violation of employment contracts or could be a source for dismissal.
Most doctors' contracts also include a two-year noncompete clause that essentially requires the doctor to move out of town once he or she leaves a specific job. So, running afoul of your employer by criticizing the ACA could result in not just losing your job but also forcing you to leave your hometown.
And that's not all. Many doctors are also afraid of losing insurance contracts. The vast majority of doctors who are still private-practice owners are dependent on a handful of large insurance contracts for revenue. Speaking out against insurance companies — which were complicit in the ACA's passage and are some of its primary beneficiaries — can result in cancellation of those contracts.

How does one spell or define “Tyranny”? And, how do Americans let this tyranny continue?

Our Founders started a revolution over far less tyranny than this.
Technically we are living under fascism, not tyranny. Fascism is the absolute authority of the state over all activities in the private sector.
I talk with physicians all the time. All are looking for ways to return to patient centered practice without the domination of government, insurance and lawyers. That triumvirate has shredded the finest medical system in the world.
True. The Boston tea party was against a tax of four cents on the dollar. Where are we now? The founders are rolling in their graves and our country deserves better. How did we go so far in the wrong direction?
The above is how fascist governments are created. First, total control of all information and allowed “Words” and Ideas. Control the Words and you can control the perceptions of the ignorant masses.
Using the force of “Law” or regulations to monitor all words and censor language in unconstitutional (of course—but what the hey with these Marxists). “Hate Speech” is unconstitutional, so govt. can dictate “good and evil”like Hitler did and control what children and stupid people (useful idiots) “think”.
It is all Rule of Man-—ejects Rule of Law (Higher Law/God’s) and “Just” (virtuous/God’s) Law which upholds Freedom of Speech (although not obscenity and evil Marxist ideology where human beings are godless animals to be used and tossed and killed when useless eaters). Marriage is evil for women and men are interchangeable-—exactly the same so all individualism has to be removed-—no identity roles of male/female-—no Science, no Biology, no Truth, no God is allowed. Children will be conditioned to hate their female bodies and reproduction, but especially men (and Christianity).
It is what our schools became by Jimmy Carter’s day (Mind control)——and all thoughts and ideas were imbedded in our children (Christianity is evil and bigoted) -—all “desires” and the idea of “Good and Evil” were flipped (feel good, do it).
All Reason and Traditions removed from Objective Truth-—flipped to a paganism, pragmatism, progressivism (to hell and totalitarianism) or to a Luciferean faith-—where you can use human beings as a Means to an End (sodomy is now good and rational—ha ha) . So with this ideology of Marx and Godwin, and Shelley, you can kill off the useless eaters or buy and sell babies or kill babies,, etc. French Revolution is “good” and “rational”.
It is all the promotion of demonic religions being forced onto our children. Sick evil ideologiies-—the same as is being done to little harem boys in Afghanistan, and we “wonder” why when they grow up they don’t “think’ like a Christian using Reason and Logic, that was embedded in our Constitution and Right Reason according to Natural Law—all ideas embedded in Classical Education but removed by Dewey so Reason and Logic is destroyed in the next generations.
They have no Reason and Lobic——base primitive impulses RULE-—like it did with Godwin and Shelley-—incest and orgies were rife and “marriage” was evil.
Physicians must accept their role as servants of the state.
So where were they in 2008 and 2009? You know, what the Tea Party and millions of people were speaking out against CommieCare? The medical profession was strangely silent, a profession that had it spoken out would have had ample support and cover since people will FAR more believe their physicians than politicians.

First off, to whom are you referring to as "they"? If you're referring to individual physicians, there were many of them (us) crying out about the outrages contained in ACA. Organized Medicine, on the other hand [aka the AMA], is about as timid as Congressional Republicans and didn't make a peep, as I recall. Even if they had, the MSM wouldn't have /reported/amplified it.

Look on the bright side. Going to the doctor is now “free” plus the chocolate ration is being increased!
Hopefully doctors will get tired of being medical technicians instead of physicians and start openly rebelling. Did you really do four years of college, four years of med school, a year long internship and a year of residency to be some bureaucrat’s bitch?

The rare *individual* voices of docs that I heard at the time were opposed to ACA on well-informed grounds. None of this “tyranny” stuff. Of course, they were ignored & drowned out.
With 50% of every healthcare dollar spent is coming from the gummint, doctors are ALREADY working for the gummint.
The media does not give microphones to those opposed to The Party.
