I saw him perform almost 10 years ago. Coming from someone that mostly listens to heavy metal, it was a great show and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The word “legend” is thrown around indiscriminately and applied to so many who don’t deserve it.
B.B. King was a legend.
Rest in peace, Mr. King.

God bless him, and may he rest in peace.

I wouldn’t say his voice was “velvety.” I always thought it sounded like a trumpet.

Saw him last year and it was kind of sad, he sat for about 30 or 45 minutes and would hit an occasional lick and only had one real solo - if I can sit at 85 I will be happy. Buddy Guy was the warm up and he had us up dancin’ - he was moving pretty good for 75 himself

The thrill went a while ago. Some months back, he attempted to give a concert that went horribly bad, from the audience's POV, any way. Didn't finish songs, forgetting the lyrics, etc.
Came across a cartoon that must have been from when Elvis died. Had Elvis's rotting corpse strung up like a marionette, probably with a sign saying "Farewell Tour", and the caption read "Nobody gets out of a contract with the Colonel."

RIP. I’ve been a fan of his music since the late 1960’s when I discovered blues.
About 15 years ago, my garage had been broken into, and I was feeling bad about the vulnerability. (I didn’t have any firearms at the time). I went to Borders and they had a live BB King album on one of their listening stations. Listening to that guitar, I started feeling better.

I saw him in 1970 or so at the same dump in Worcester where the Stones showed up a few years later and jammed with the local band on stage.
BB King was actually as great as a true legend should be, RIP

dump in Worcester...
Saw him in ‘72. Sunset Series, Boston Common.
Bo Diddley followed by Chuck Berry - my fave.
Berry had the crowd in fits Rockin’ n Rollin.
After Berry quit the stage, the crowd would not quiet down until BB smoothly crooned, ‘The Thrill is Gone...’
Bo is gone, now BB...

I too saw Chuck Berry in the early 70s and he put on a great show.
