A special House panel investigating the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, has uncovered tens of thousands of new documents, but is still facing "obstacles" from the Obama administration, an interim report issued Monday said.
An "Interim Progress Update" was released Monday revealing the investigation "has uncovered new witnesses, new documents, new facts and will result in the most detailed and complete accounting of what happened in Benghazi."
And it reported that the panel in June will interview former Secretary of State Leon Panetta, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey and retired General Carter Ham, who was in charge of U.S. troops in Libya at the time of the attack.

Would the Gowdy cranks prefer he just dismiss the investigation entirely, due to obstruction and lack of relevant evidence, or would they prefer he bring forth with an exercise in futility, a losing case without relevant evidence?
HE doesn’t have to, it leads to the Leadership of BOTH Parties. It is going nowhere, all relevant evidence of guilt will be sanitized by the committee chairman. Just fodder for the masses. One Big Dog and Pony show, nothing to see.
At one TIME I had a lot of confidence in Rep. GOWDY and before that Rep. ISSA.
I agree now with the other ultra-skeptics in this Thread, It’s all KABUKI THEATER, now, for the ignant masses that VOTE whether they show up at the polls are NOT!!!
He’s good at red-meat interviewing in committee hearings, but not much else.
Then he should stand before the American people, resign and tell us why instead of playing along with this charade.

It belongs to the EXECUTIVE BRANCH. The State Dept is in the EXECUTIVE branch, not Congress, not in Trey Gowdy’s lap, but theirs. The Justice Dept belongs to the EXECUTIVE BRANCH, lock, stock and barrel, not to Trey Gowdy.

None of this has to do with Trey Gowdy. These threads are always so full of Gowdy bashing posters that are so off scent they pose a danger to themselves around a gas can.

Issa and Gowdy are at least fighting the battle. They are up against incredible odds, and they have managed to get the information OUT to the public.
They do not have the power to do anything more than investigate. They are not dictators.
Imagine if we had given up in WWII just because we lost a few battles. Issa and Gowdy are fighting for our country while the rest of us sit back and complain because THEY didn’t do ANYTHING.

He had some hearings. You were 'informed' because of that.
He is having more hearings, with people who wouldn't appear before. His job is to investigate. We don't have all the answers yet, so he is continuing the investigation.
How is that 'ineffectual' ? He is not a 'god' who can just wish Obama or Hillary into 'hell' or prison.
Why can’t Congress appoint a special prosecutor?
Why can’t Congress subpoena Hillary’s server?

No, it's a hearing to get the info out in public so that YOU can stand up and do something about the tyranny of your government leaders.
If nothing is done after the investigation/hearings are complete, it is not Gowdy's fault, but ours.

However, Gowdy is actually ‘doing’ something. You wouldn’t be reading about this if he wasn’t.

These investigations take time, patience and dedication to the issues at hand.
When Gowdy does present compelling evidence of wrongdoing, which I believe he will, watch them jump right back on the "Oh, yeah, I knew Trey Gowdy was a good guy" bandwagon.
