House Speaker John Boehner said Sunday that Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential frontrunner, needs to support the trade legislation that President Obama wants to help get enough Democratic votes for passage.
The Ohio Republican, in a wide-ranging interview with NBCs Meet the Press, said the GOP indeed controls the House and Senate but that he and Obama needs her help to give the president negotiating authority to complete an Asia-Pacific trade deal.
We can't do this by ourselves, Boehner said. Every president over the last 50 years has had this (authority.) There is no reason why President Obama shouldn't have it either because trade is good for our country.
Clinton as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013 supported such legislation. But as a presidential candidate she appears noncommittal -- amid liberal Democrats and labor unions saying the pact would cost American jobs and lower environmental standards.
Hillary Clinton was for trade promotion authority, Boehner added. Hillary Clinton is for the trade bill with the Asians, she just won't say so.

The REPUBLICAN speaker of the house is BEGGING the prospective DEMOCRAT presidential nominee to help him get OBAMA'S agenda passed!
Boehner is an unreconstructed appeaser. Until the Pubbie caucus grows a pair, he will be like a boil on our collective arses.
What could possibly go wrong with another “free trade” agreement? After all the reduction of tariffs and quotas over the last 25 years has produced an economic boom. Of course the boom was in China.
Useless, complicit, RINO (Undocumented Democrat):
"I have your back again, My Master, beloved King and Caliph."
Hey Boehner!
If this trade deal is so damn special why are you hiding the details?
Why is Congress abdicating its responsibility in this matter and handing its Constitutional authority over to an America hating President?
Does Boner get a crissy mathews leg tingle when he thinks of olordship?
Did Boehner somewhere along the line become a Democrat and forget to tell everyone?
He is a two faced POS. We tried to get him out of there but got no support from our supposed conservative majority (that is what they tell the voters anyway). He doubled down when his prime stooge Canter got the heave ho but the rank and file did not have the nads to toss him out following the lead from the Canter primary.
Wake me when rev II starts.
Thank you.
Here it is, as it should read: Boehner tells Clinton dont let my lord and master, his majesty king Obama 'swing in the wind' over Asia-Pacific trade deal
Boehner needs to “swing in the wind”.
Screw you Boehner you lousy drunk.
He is a an idiot, he has no conservative values, or any redeeming values at all, for that matter.
Never did like him.
hell yeah, Obama and Reggie Love have been swinging in the wind for quite awhile now.
what the heck is wrong with Boehner on this? much less anything else the boy messiah touches?
Boehner/McConnell are busy implementing the most egregious political betrayal of America in American history. They specifically campaigned against what they are now pursuing.
“Every president over the last 50 years has had this (authority.) There is no reason why President Obama shouldn’t have it either because trade is good for our country.”
But it won’t end up a trade bill if Zero negotiates it. It will be a let everyone sue American businesses for environmental reasons bill . . . and that would be just the first page.
Sorry, I believe you’re wrong. Boehner is doing exactly what the vast majority of the GOP caucus wants. Some of his biggest supporters are from the most red areas of the country. These beltway bums are happy to sell Main Street to the highest bidder and Boehner gives them cover to do it.
...that Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential frontrunner, needs to support the trade legislation that President Obama wants to help get enough Democratic votes for passage...IOW, she's now in the crosshairs -- a position into which the Partisan Media Shills wouldn't put her -- regarding whether she'll support it. If she comes out in favor of it, she's screwed in the primaries. If she comes out against it, she's screwed with the Democrat establishment. If she says nothing, she's screwed with both. Thank you, Speaker Boehner.
I will eagerly await the nightly news reporting the event.
