Former Hewlett-Packard CEO and potential Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina is blaming Californias water crisis on liberal environmentalists who are willing to sacrifice other peoples lives and livelihoods at the altar of their ideology.
With different policies over the last 20 years, all of this could be avoided, Ms. Fiorina said in an interview Monday on Glenn Becks radio show, The Blazereported. Despite the fact that California has suffered from droughts for millennia, liberal environmentalists have prevented the building of a single new reservoir or a single new water conveyance system over decades during a period in which Californias population has doubled.
Ms. Fiorina said that as a result, 70 percent of Californias rainfall washes out to sea every year, The Blaze reported.
California is a classic case of liberals being willing to sacrifice other peoples lives and livelihoods at the altar of their ideology. It is a tragedy, Ms. Fiorina said.
Government has grown so huge, so powerful, so costly, so complex, it is literally crushing the life out of this country, she argued. It is crushing small and family-owned businesses, which are the economic engine of our nation. It is crushing possibilities out of peoples lives by entangling them in a web of dependence from which they cannot escape. The weight, the cost and the power of government are literally crushing the potential of the nation.

There is a seawater desalination plant under construction in southern California. So that will help some when it comes on line.
However, enviro extremists are against desalination. Reasons they give are that these plants are powered by fossil fuels, and that the plants produce waste, mainly sea salt and other minerals in sea water, which needs to be handled somehow. For these reasons, I expect battles over building any more desalination plants in California.
She’s right to a great extent.
AMEN and Amen
California has become a psychic cesspool
The Carlsbad plant is about 70% complete.
No problem. Use nuclear power. That’l really get their panties in a wad. And to give them something to think about while they waste time on that decision, cut off all the water coming in from Arizona.
Santa Barbara has another desalination plant they mothballed years ago that they are reactivating.

Well, there you go. The enviro extremists are against nuclear too. Even though nuclear plants produce none of their dreaded greenhouse gases, they continue to oppose nuclear.
In fact, I’ve heard that we haven’t been able to build a new nuclear plant in this country in decades, due to the environmental pressure groups and lobbyists.
Perhaps the sea salt and mineral by-products may be used, somehow. (We could use the salt for the mountain roads in winter. That would REALLY upset the enviros.)
What can you say other than ‘she’s right’!
The environutsies are against any power source that actually works - even those that they promote such as wind and solar once they get deployed and offending their precious sensibilities.
Wow! She is not all that Conservative. Something in their polling must be telling them its most effective to take the Scott Walker/Ted Cruz approach and attack the Libs head-on between the eyes.
About damned time!

I am certain a lot of bad laws and policy have ben made to placate the decision maker’s lady.
“that the plants produce waste, mainly sea salt and other minerals in sea water, which needs to be handled somehow”
How about toss it back into the sea?
And she is absolutely correct
“However, enviro extremists are against desalination. Reasons they give are that these plants are powered by fossil fuels, and that the plants produce waste, mainly sea salt and other minerals in sea water, which needs to be handled somehow. For these reasons, I expect battles over building any more desalination plants in California.”
Just tell them that windmills will power these plants. And then watch their heads explode.
I would love to hear someone blame the liberals for globall warming. That would be perfect.
