NEW YORK -- Bob Simon, the longtime "60 Minutes" correspondent and legendary CBS News foreign reporter died suddenly tonight in a car accident in New York City.
The award-winning newsman was 73.
Simon's career spanned five decades, from covering the war in Vietnam to a piece on "60 Minutes" this past weekend on the Academy Award-nominated film "Selma."
This is a developing story.

Probably because he wore a suit coat over his arms. I have never seen many non-liberal, dimocrat voting, correspondents on any of the alphabet networks. In my time on this earth, I have noticed that 99.5% of talking heads on all these networks work for the liberals, they are liberals themselves, and the voting records of said talking heads each election, shows they are solidly in the dim camp. Thus, ain’t gonna give you the facts that harm their minders.
Nobody is perfect man.
At least he did not embellished news stories though, which is a lot more offensive.
The reality is that we who are Christian have to man/woman up and accept the fact that Jesus was ill-treated, so those who follow Him must expect that too. Goes with the calling to be Christian.

Other then for Istanbul, which was called Constanople at one time, that is the only other place Orthodox-wise I could think of.

Again - For the Orthodox, authority does not reside in a specific place. Authority resides in the Holy Scriptures, the writings of the Holy Fathers, the liturgy and other services, including hymns, preserved and transmitted by the Bishops, who are held accountable to and by the faithful.
It is a mindset that the Western mind has some difficulty in adjusting to.
