Rep. Paul Gosar says there'll be more than 20 Republicans voting against Boehner tomorrow. On the prospect of retribution? "Bring it."— Matt Fuller (@MEPFuller) January 5, 2015
If they dethrone Bhoner, its just step one. The machine will not accept it and bull ahead causing as much hassle as possible. Thats why it is crucial to stop sending them money and manpower every 2 years.
Add Daniel Webster to the growing rebellion.
Steve King said Webster is throwing his name in the hat for speaker, along with Gohmert and Yoho.
Let’s rephrase that thought:
What has Boehner Promised Pelosi should it become necessary for her to deliver a required number of dems votes?
Oh Norm. You’ll find a problem in every solution! :)
I’ll wait until tomorrow to get my bubble burst. I think it will get burst around 1 pm Eastern??, then you can tell us how all this won’t work.
I hope your bubble remains whole. But will you honestly be surprised if it pops?
Honestly, no. I will be very disappointed but no, I really don’t expect him to be ousted.
Heading to bed, having still not read the original article (leapfrog will understand that one).
Sweet dreams ;)
Sleep well.
Good call. You've taken it to the next higher order of unipartyism (if that's a word) --- also see my reply #65.

A second ballot: very unlikely at this pt. But tonight at Cap, mbrs. priv. say it’s on their mind. Would be chaos.

Rep Ted Yoho R-FL: “I expect we’ll have a second round” of voting for Speaker on Tuesday “
Given that the libertarian philosophy is against using government force to coerce unless absolutely required, and the Constitution's restrictions are on using government so such a degree that there's only a few genuinely legitimate federal crimes (treason, counterfeiting, felonies/piracy on the high seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations
) I don't really see a problem with putting libertarians in federal government positions.
Heck, that might be the only way to get States back into national politics as more than pawns/figureheads.
The idea seems to be to push the conservatives out of the party and make the conservatives the third party.
That's the idea, but do you honestly think that libertarians are contrary to the spirit of the Constitution? // It seems to me that a really libertarian bloc in Congress would be a bane to the elites, both Democrat and Republican, in their Statist ambitions.
Not really. If anything, Texas is the extreme Southern-Midwest, but at the end of the day, it's just Texas. It's sorta what that 'Lone Star' is all about. We don't fit with anyplace else but ourselves.
amash hasn’t weighed in ....
I can’t wait to move there. 4 weeks and counting.
I could send you some gorgeous pictures of the property, the Appalachians in the background, the lake 10 miles way - but you probably see all that out your backdoor too ;)
Can’t find any info with a search. Still shows up as Petri. Gee ya think the MSM might have a blackout? bwaaa.
Perhaps call the switchboard and ask for his office. I’ll try that tomorrow, too.
