NYPD warned about turning backs on mayor at cop’s funeral (so middle-fingering DeBlasio is OK?)
NY POST ^ | 1/2/15 | By Larry Celona, Shawn Cohen and Danika Fears

NY Police Commissioner Bratton sent out a memo...being read at precinct roll-calls ahead of slain Officer Wenjian Liu’s Sunday service. Bratton pleaded with the rank and file to shelve their anger: “The country’s consciousness has focused on an act of disrespect shown by a fraction of those…officers,” he said. Many cops were furious over the directive, which they saw as an attempt to fix the mayor’s bruised ego. “He’s taking DeBlasio's side....to protect him and not make him look bad,” one source said.

One cop who participated in the collective back-turn found the Bratton memo sickening: " I feel Mayor de Blasio does not like cops....., I would never do anything to disrespect another cop or his family,” he added.

Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins blasted the mayor: “If the mayor has to direct the commissioner to respect him, it’s a total embarrassment,” he said. Mullins told his members it’s up to them if they want to protest.“I remind my members of their first amendment rights of expression,” he said. “It’s your choice. Choose what makes sense to you.”

A lot of these cops — maybe most of them — are from police departments outside New York City. Bratton has no authority over them whatsoever. They come from places that are still part of America, not that leftist totalitarian fiefdom known as New York City. So they’ll do whatever they damn well please.

October 1, 2014

Sharpton, remember, didn’t do the expected and support Bill Thompson, the only black candidate in the 2013 Democratic mayoral primary. De Blasio was the most ardent cop critic in the pack, eagerly put his biracial family front and center, and probably promised Sharpton lots of face time and, just maybe, a patronage job or two. In the end, Sharpton stayed neutral.

As a result, de Blasio and Thompson split the black vote, which allowed de Blasio to squeak past the 40 percent threshold he needed to avoid a runoff.

That history makes clear that the way to understand Noerdlinger’s hiring, her excessive salary, the waiver and the mayor’s willingness to spend political capital defending her is that it has nothing to do with her. It’s all about repaying his debt to Sharpton.

The problem is that no repayment will ever be sufficient. Sharpton is like the Mafia — the more you pay, the more you owe. When you have a debt to him, he owns you.

He publicly humiliated de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton at City Hall; in a normal world, that would be enough to get him exiled. But as the Noerdlinger case shows, the mayor believes he is still so far in hock that he’ll twist and bend and insult the NYPD to keep Sharpton happy.

Thanks---here's the complete story.

1/1- NY POST EXCERPT---here's the squalid assumptions behind so much of de Blasio’s anti-cop rhetoric.

Candidate de Blasio ran his campaign for mayor based on calumny: that the NYPD is a racist police force. This was what de Blasio meant when he campaigned against “an abusive stop-and-frisk policy that targeted communities of color.” In other words, we weren’t talking about a few bad apples. We were talking about an entire force out to get people of color.

And just look at the characters who were attracted by the argument. Start with Kicy Motley. Back when de Blasio was but one Democratic candidate among many (and not even the leading one) vying for the nomination, Motley was working on the de Blasio campaign. She came to the campaign with definite views on the cops.

A year earlier, she’d tweeted “F?-?-?k. The.Police” after New York cops shot and killed a knife-wielding man in Times Square. Later she had tweeted “there’s a part of me rooting for #Dorner,” a reference to former LAPD cop Chris Dorner, who killed three police officers and the daughter of a police officer in a shooting spree that ended when he took his own life. Today Motley proudly works for Mayor de Blasio in a do-nothing “community affairs” jobs in Brooklyn.

Shortly after Motley’s tweets became public, another member of Team de Blasio was found to have made similar posts. In addition to rants against Jews and vulgar references to then-Speaker Christine Quinn’s anatomy,

Anthony “Tony” Baker — who worked for then-Public Advocate de Blasio — had posted this gem: “Kill the Police.” Baker resigned, and de Blasio went on to be elected mayor. For a while, all was quiet. Then came the infamous July meeting at City Hall, where the mayor seated the loudest voice in the anti-cop chorus, the Rev. Al Sharpton who used his position to suggest that instead of retraining his cops, the mayor should “perp-walk one of them.”

Two months later, New Yorkers learned that one of the mayor’s top advisers, Rachel Noerdlinger, was living with a man who is also no fan of police. Hassaun McFarlan has a long criminal record that includes homicide, conspiring to run a cocaine operation and nearly running a New Jersey cop off the road. In his Facebook posts, McFarlan calls police officers “pigs.”

NOTE: Noerdlinger was once Sharpton's aide----she then beace an aide to deBlobbio's lesbian wife. When the dirt on her emerged, she would not quit her cushy job. She was later put on leave AFTER de Blobbio defended her....... she then showed up beside Sharpton.

De Blasio Would Dump Bratton in Showdown with Sharpton, Sources Say

(snip)

As for Bratton, “the mayor picked him because he knew that one day the s—t will hit the fan, as it always will, and he will need Bratton’s experience to keep the cops in line and handle the situation.”

(snip)

But if things worsen, insiders say, it will be no question that de Blasio would opt to stick with Sharpton rather than Bratton. Sharpton commands a constituency that is more aligned with de Blasio’s voting pool than Bratton does, they say.

“He can throw Bratton under the bus.”

de Blasio must immediately and fully dissociate himself from Sharpton and denounce his cop-hating, race-baiting behavior

So must obama and holder.

They should all call in sick a couple days in a row and see how the city does then.

I would argue the contrary. Investigate everything . File ream after ream of papers. seriously go through motions but actually do nothing.

Once the baddies get the message, the crap will hit the fan. The blowback will coat the mayor and his commissioner They will be shown to be ineffective and have no control.

In progressive speak, passive resistance

If the cops don’t want to do the jobs they are paid for, fire them.

This dispute has nothing to do with the safety of officers. It’s about them wanting more money and better benefits. Lynch has been worse through this than Sharpton.

When Air Traffic controllers went on strike, Reagan knew what to do.

They make fun of flyover country, but weeks can go by without a cop needing to drive down the road. NYC would start coming apart in a couple of days.

One has to earn respect, and deBlasio has earned just the opposite. Every time those cops turned their backs on him, it’s well-deserved.

And the military can do the same with the POS in the White House as far as I’m concerned.

Sounds like the NYPD cops need to turn their backs on Bratton.

“All officers were painted by it, and it stole the valor, honor, and attention that rightfully belonged to the memory of detective Rafael Ramos’s life and service. "

I agree, this wasn't the place for it. If the family didn't want they mayor there, they would have told him so. NYPD has 1000 ways to make the miserable bastard even more miserable. Using the mans funeral as a platform such as this was completely out of line and a typical union move: it's all about them, all of the time.

Assuming I support this loud-mouthed opportunist leftnut mayor would be in error. I just strongly believe that doing this at the mans funeral was completely out of line. Flame away...
