Walker, who was re-elected in November, is considered a likely White House contender. Walker said Tuesday his goal is to remove any mandate or requirement that requires a school district to abide by Common Core standards, the Associated Press reported.
This is a softer approach than Walkers demand in July that the state legislature repeal the Common Core standards.

Spot on.
You’re wrong about Walker and making a mistake by believing agitprop.
Are you working for Jeb or Mitt?
Mmm, I’m not sure what to say to that, the article does indicate a distinct change in his position.
neither
Don’t go wobbly, Scott.
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.[Posted on 11/19/2013 12:16:51 PM by Third Person]
Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.[Posted on 01/31/2013 5:08:50 PM PST by xzins]
Rand Paul's immigration speech...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reformLatinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... So here’s a guy that split unions, one from another. He wisely chose not to go after all unions, just the most notorious ones, the failed ones. He’s won 3 elections in a row in a state that is at best purple.
Why should he waste time on an issue of only marginal value, one that will get him another recall situation, when instead he has an effective agenda in place. Now, if the legislature brings that legislation to him, he will sign it. But he’s extremely wise not to pick an unnecessary fight. He’ll make a great VP candidate.
Even better, he lacks a college degree and that might be why he’s so normal. Can you see the DC elites’ heads exploding when he’s elected?
Then stop attacking a very good man out of utter ignorance.
He’ll make a very savvy standard bearer and a great VP.
Do you realize the type of poeple that are being manufuctured in the school system of this country?
Do you not understand that if this is not shut down asap there is no hope at all for this country?
We have already lost 2 if not 3 generations because of people having their heads filled with crap as they are growing up, and no one seems to give a damn about how it’s being done, whihc tells me that they are pretty much ok with it.
And I’m not ok with someone who is ok with it because he went after some unions.
I don’t think someone who is ok with allowing the left to manufacture drones of children in schools would make a great VP candidtate.
Walker said Tuesday his goal is to remove any mandate or requirement that requires a school district to abide by Common Core standards,
Note that he will undo any mandate or requirement forcing school districts to enforce Common Core standards. What will the result be?
Local control, local parents and an end to Common Core by competition and comparison, not by a new government fiat.
Do you see how savvy and good Walker is? He's not going to dictate policy, but allow it to die by example. That's the proper way to kill it.
I do not know what the result will be, because we have a good number of communists in this country.
I’m not really sure that many people in this country are even capable of making comparisons anymore, furthermore, I do not believe that communism should be allowed to compete at all.
Common Core is poison, and allowing it to flow so that people can see if they want it or not is stupid.
It should be snuffed out.
America doesn’t have time for a long fight. America is out of time.
