The states highest court has toppled a cultural taboo legalizing a degree of incest, at least between an uncle and niece in a unanimous ruling. While the laws against parent-child and brother-sister marriages . . . are grounded in the almost universal horror with which such marriages are viewed . . . there is no comparably strong objection to uncle-niece marriages, Tuesdays ruling reads.

I don’t think NY know their history was one of Royal family like Haspburg that f*** up on their family tree
Ping.
I very much expect this ruling to be sanctified on a future show of “The Jerry Springer Show.” Rejoice.
sick freaks
France outlawed incest in 2010
and we are going the other way
I predict that Pakistanis will win the "right" to both at once.
Regards,
She married her mother’s half-brother. The judge ruled that this was the genetic equivalent to ‘cousin’ which that state allowed marriages between.
The article is misleading. The court did not invalidate the prohibition of full uncle-niece marriages.
Makes you wonder what the brother thinks of it.
Here’s a young woman he raised for a couple of decades, hoping her life would be special, as close to perfect as you could hope for.
Then the brother steps in and kaboom.
The brother has to be around 40. The niece is 20 years his junior.
This is a sad thing.
This is impossible because Gay “Marriage” advocates told us incest would never be justified after Gay “Marriage” was approved.
I’m as sick of the whole thing as anyone, but as a pessimist as to where this is all going, I expect the incest prohibitions to fall in time. I still ask the question - how is the IRS going to handle this for estate tax purposes - when for example a wealthy great grandfather, whose spouse predeceased him, decides, on his deathbed, to marry his great grandson. Sounds pretty absurd on first reading it, but you are changing the transfer of property between generations to one of leaving property to a spouse. All the GST code provisions assume you have distinct sequential generations. By allowing incest, you can compress the generations and eliminate GST.
The age difference is not what is sad. This is just sick all the way around.
Could I divorce my husband and marry my dad (on paper only!) after my dad divorces my mom, and then not have to pay death taxes on mom and dad’s estate when they are both gone?
Well, that sure explains a whoooole lot!......................
Does a state that elects people like Hillary Clinton, Schmucky Schumer, Mario Cuomo, Eliot Spitzer, David Paterson
and Andrew Cuomo need to breed more mentally challenged voters?
libertarians must be celebrating
I’m My Own Grandpa
written by Dwight Latham & Moe Jaffe
Many, many years ago when I was twenty-three
I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red
My father fell in love with her and soon they too were wed
This made my dad my son-in-law and really changed my life
For now my daughter was my mother, ‘cause she was my father’s wife
And to complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy
My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad
For if he were my uncle, then that also made him brother
Of the widow’s grownup daughter, who was of course my step-mother
Father’s wife then had a son who kept them on the run
And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter’s son
My wife is now my mother’s mother and it makes me blue
Because although she is my wife, she’s my grandmother too
Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I’m her grandchild
And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild
‘Cause now I have become the strangest ‘case you ever saw
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa
I’m my own grandpa, I’m my own grandpa
It sounds funny, I know but it really is so
I’m my own grandpa

With the states falling like dominos for ssm because of judicial decisions, other bizarre forms of marriage are just a matter of time.
No, as I mentioned the brother should be very upset about it. (or sister as the case may be)
It is sick all the way around IMO.
You’ve got a brother marrying his niece. (in this instance 1/2 niece)
It’s a young woman 20 years his junior.
It’s disrespectful of the parents.
Ultimately it’s disrespectful of the young woman, because her parents are being disrespected.
The whole family dynamic is tainted because of this.
There is the genetic issue, even if it is reduced. It’s still an issue.
