BREAKING: Hawaii Department of Health Confirms Patient in Isolation With Ebola Symptoms!

LibertyNews.com has been on top of reports surrounding Ebola throughout the day. Our last report pointed to the fact that a plane identified as the aircraft carrying the Dallas Ebola victim later landed in LA, and both planes he traveled on have since landed in 27 cities.

Now we’re getting reports from Hawaii that an individual is in isolation with Ebola symptoms. This is confirmed by Hawaii health officials.

Insert:

The Department of Health has confirmed a patient is currently in isolation and undergoing testing in Honolulu.

The Hawaii Nurses Association said the person is being treated at The Queen’s Medical Center.

Officials told KHON2 Ebola is a possibility, however the patient has yet to be specifically tested for the virus.

“We are early in the investigation of a patient — very, very, early, who we’re investigating that might have Ebola,” said Dr. Melissa Viray, deputy state epidemiologist. “It’s very possible that they do and they have Ebola, I think it’s also more likely that they have another condition that presents with similar symptoms.”

Dr. Viray said the patient could have a number of illnesses including Ebola, flu, malaria and typhoid.

Dr. Viray wouldn’t confirm any details about the patient, symptoms, or if the person had recently traveled to West Africa. But she did say red flags for Ebola include fever and recent travel to that area.

Ebola victims can fly right in and expose multitudes to the disease. Dogs and cats get quarantined.

HAWAII’S ANIMAL QUARANTINE LAW
Hawaii is rabies-free. Hawaii’s quarantine law is designed to protect residents and pets from potentially serious health problems associated with the introduction and spread of rabies. All dogs and cats, regardless of age (puppies and kittens included) or purpose, must comply with Hawaii’s dog and cat import requirements.

Chapter 4-29 Hawaii Administrative Rules, governs the importation of dogs, cats and other carnivores into Hawaii. This law states that dogs and cats meeting specific pre- and post-arrival requirements may qualify for 5-day–or-less quarantine program, which has a provision for direct release at Honolulu International Airport after inspection.

Furthermore, the law requires dogs and cats that do not meet all of the specific 5-Day-Or-Less program requirements to be quarantined for up to 120 days upon arrival in Hawaii. Please read thoroughly the following documents containing details on the rabies quarantine programs for importing dogs and cats.

I don’t think every hospital in North America is necessarily prepared to test for ebola, since, you know, they have never had to do it before.

I won’t be concerned until it hits all 57 states, or the corpsmen start dying. /sarc

What a stupid comment (by Fumento). Malaria and TB aren’t spreading at an exponetial rate...and they don’t kill up to 90% of their victims. I guess by this reasoning...until Ebola kills 10-20 MILLION...we have no need of concern. Of course...at that point 2-4 million are dying monthly and that rate is doubling every month...and its too late to worry about it or take precaution then...

The average American today can not make change from a cash register without it telling them how much to hand the customer. They haven’t a clue what “exponential expansion” means.

Math is hard, so it is no longer taught in our schools.

I am pretty sure they have to send it to the mainland for testing. And it costs a bloody fortune perhaps.

Hopefully they mean they are waiting on results.

Hawaii? Pish posh...this should be EASY to contain there. Just isolate the patient with the birth records from 1961. NOTHING gets out of there!

"Hawaii is rabies-free. Hawaii’s quarantine law is designed to protect residents and pets from potentially serious health problems associated with the introduction and spread of rabies."

From the book The Hot Zone, a terrifying true story:

"In Germany, the effects of Marburg virus on the train were particularly frightening, and resembled the effects of rabies: the virus somehow damaged the central nervous system and could destroy the brain, as does rabies. The Marburg particles also looked rather like rabies particles. The rabies virus particle is shaped like a bullet. If you stretch out a bullet, it begins to look like a length of rope, and if you coil the rope into a loop, it becomes a ring, like Marburg. Thinking that Marburg might be related to rabies, they called it stretched rabies. Later it became clear that Marburg belongs to its own family.

"Not long after Charles Monet died, it was established that the family of filoviruses comprised Marburg along with two types of virus called Ebola. The Ebolas were named Ebola Zaire and Ebola Sudan. Marburg was the mildest of the three filovirus sisters. The worst of them was Ebola Zaire. The kill rate in humans infected with Ebola Zaire is nine out of ten. Ninety percent of the people who come down with Ebola Zaire die of it. Ebola Zaire is a slate wiper in humans."

Well, the only good news today is the market is not tanking again.

Give it time, Mouton, the day is young.

Just quarantine your island. It’s probably easier to stop Ebola in Hawaii than in the other 56 states.

In all sincerity, may God be with you. Buy bleach.

Stop illegal amnesty and secure the borders. Block planes from west Africa at this point.

Actually, if you have followed the ebola list for years here on FR...that tactic is quite normal.

My plan this evening...last minute roundup of extra bleach and about 10lbs of meat.

Anybody saying how ebola got to Hawaii? Same flight as this Dallas character?

Anything turning up in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta?
