LibertyNews.com has been on top of reports surrounding Ebola throughout the day. Our last report pointed to the fact that a plane identified as the aircraft carrying the Dallas Ebola victim later landed in LA, and both planes he traveled on have since landed in 27 cities.
Now were getting reports from Hawaii that an individual is in isolation with Ebola symptoms. This is confirmed by Hawaii health officials.
Insert:
The Department of Health has confirmed a patient is currently in isolation and undergoing testing in Honolulu.
The Hawaii Nurses Association said the person is being treated at The Queens Medical Center.
Officials told KHON2 Ebola is a possibility, however the patient has yet to be specifically tested for the virus.
We are early in the investigation of a patient very, very, early, who were investigating that might have Ebola, said Dr. Melissa Viray, deputy state epidemiologist. Its very possible that they do and they have Ebola, I think its also more likely that they have another condition that presents with similar symptoms.
Dr. Viray said the patient could have a number of illnesses including Ebola, flu, malaria and typhoid.
Dr. Viray wouldnt confirm any details about the patient, symptoms, or if the person had recently traveled to West Africa. But she did say red flags for Ebola include fever and recent travel to that area.

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Typhoid Barry
I guess the tourism industry lost the coin toss...
Bring out your dead!.................
er, wait......on second thought........................
I think this continual refusal to give out certain details is going to cause real problems in the future.
Yep- that’s what I’m saying- that and more.
You have to wonder is this playing out as planned?
Wo Fat will be pleased. Steve and the rest of 5-0 are out of their league now.
Here we go.
How many more times are we going to hear this kind of ‘Breaking News’?
God help us all.
I suspect he won’t be going to Hawaii for his Christmas vacation (?) /sarc
“however the patient has yet to be specifically tested for the virus.”
WTF? Hasn’t been tested? Are these people insane?
Panic wuss Americans...Fumento was on the radio yesterday talking about how more people will day that day of Tuberculosis on this planet than have died of Ebola during this new epidemic... And Malaria....and on and on..
anyone remember SARS ?
Well, the only good news today is the market is not tanking again. They seem to always get the news right so until I see it go over the cliff, I am not going to panic.
Someone once asked me why I did not read the first sections of the news. I said I read the financial page...it is all there, just hidden behind the numbers.
only 13 states certified by the CDC to conduct diagnostic Ebola testing

I’m guessing Hawaii isn’t one of them, samples have to be flown to a testing center first.
This patient of course headed to a state which requires his employer to give him health insurance.
Panic, we have not seen anything yet, soon Flu Season will be upon us.
“Are you talking to me? ARE You Talking to Me? Who you're calling wusses?”
On second read, the articles says ‘ebola symptoms’ !!!
Big difference. (fingers crossed)
It’s not simple or quick to test for a virus, especially early on. Later, you can test for virus antibodies, which is what they do with aids. But by then ebola patients are already very obviously dying from it. In practical terms you can only isolate them and wait to see.
