Boehner and Pelosi Unite to Pass Bill Funding Planned Parenthood, Obamacare, Syrian Revolutionaries

(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker John Boehner (R.-Ohio) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) joined forces early Wednesday evening as the House passed a continuing resolution that will fund the government after the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30, and that will permit funding for Planned Parenthood (the nation's largest abortion provider), the entirety of Obamacare, and an amendment requested by President Barack Obama "to train and equip appropriately vetted elements of the Syrian opposition."

The bill passed 319 to 108 with four members not voting. But there were not enough Republican members to pass the bill without significant support from Democrats. While Pelosi sided with the Republican leadership and voted for the bill, 53 Republicans joined with 55 Democrats in voting against it.

In addition to Pelosi, some of the other Democrats voting for the Republican leadership's bill, included Rep. John Conyers (D.-Mich.), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schlultz (D.-Fla.), Rep. Xavier Becerra (D.-Calif.), Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D.-Ore.), and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D.-Ill.).

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R.-Texas), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.), Rep. Trey Gowdy (R.-S.C.), Rep. John Fleming (R.-La.), Rep. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio), and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R.-Calif.) were among the Republicans who voted against it.

The so called "strong conservative" Dr Bill Cassidy voted FOR this! He want to repeal Obamacare, but still votes to fund it. Not once, but multiple times. He says he's against abortion, but still votes for its funding. Darth Sideous Cassidy a strong conservative? Don't think so.

Lesser evils and People that support lesser evils are a greater danger to America than democrats. This article proves why. There are no ‘lesser’ evils.

Cheshire conservatives in office and their supporters share a common trait. Both will support the liberal position when the chips are down. They prove it with their actions. Their words declaring their ‘conservatism’ are not backed by their actions.

I wish upon all of those who voted FOR this, the same kind of person, that gladly and bravely, climbed over The White House fence!

Whatever occurs after that, I don’t know, don’t wish to know, or even give pause to contemplate!

So vote Republican cause the Democrats are worse slogan is a total fail.

This shows those who mock Conservatives for demanding ideological purity are foolish.

I’m curious.

What percentage of the Congress, the House, the Senate, Dems, Independents and Republicans would we Freepers consider to be CONSERVATIVES?

My guess: 5 to 10 percent tops for the GOP. Half that for Congress as a whole.

If that is correct, why are we surprised when the votes by the GOP leaders in the House and Senate are often on the liberal side. The GOP is on the liberal side. The leaders are chosen by that liberal majority. We have a long way to go until we have a conservative majority in Congress or even in our own party. Like it or not, that’s just the way it is.

I suggest less whining and more work.

And yet the GOPe still expect everyone to turn out and sweep the GOP into a senate majority. I’m very concerned its not going to happen. These people are loons.

More like 5-10 people at best.

Less whining is needed. 100% agreement. The problem is that you have a group of liberals determined to elect more of their kind as long as an R is attached. This latest carved in steel example shows how liberal the GOP is.

Before any serious identification of people in office, we need to finally have the serious identification of who ‘we’ are individually. No one wants to have that come to Jesus meeting because it is going to be a major blow up in which no one can keep pretending their online BFF is a ‘staunch rock ribbed conservative’ anymore.

When a person spends their days using FR as a tool to promote the RINO wing ‘no matter what’...as many do every day, they stand in opposition to everything conservatives identify as conservative. So what is their purpose? It isn’t promoting conservative candidates. They consistently promote RINOs OVER conservative to WIN!!!!

Look what they won.

Once again we mistakenly named ‘purists’ have been proven 100% right. Everything we said has happened. And we are villified for what? practicing principle instead of situational ethics.

Until conservatism here and everywhere defines who and what it is we actually believe in, we go nowhere because under the current system, the RINOs and open libs are doing a bang up job keeping our guys out of power and using our ‘institutions to do it.

And cults of personality are a big part of why.

the House passed a continuing resolution that will fund the government after the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30
IOW, the shutdown didn't work the last time it was tried.
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.
