Democrats seem to love death. Whether they’re yammering about abortion or “end of life” planning, they just can’t get enough of talking up the myriad ways people can exit life’s stage. They always claim this is simply a discussion about personal responsibility and individual choice but, since they despise those ideals in virtually every other matter, it’s a hard argument to buy.
Enter Ezekiel Emanuel.
Emanuel was one of the chief architects of ObamaCare and is, of course, the brother of Rahm. Over at The Atlantic, he’s penned an article about his own death and he’s made a shocking announcement about the perfect age at which he hopes to die. While he very specifically rules out euthanasia, Emanuel says he hopes his ticker shuts down at the not-particularly-old age of 75.
The reason? 75 is, apparently, the perfect age for a human to buy the farm. According to Emanuel, people who live longer than that risk struggling through a less-than-perfect existence.
Doubtless, death is a loss. It deprives us of experiences and milestones, of time spent with our spouse and children. In short, it deprives us of all the things we value.
But here is a simple truth that many of us seem to resist: living too long is also a loss. It renders many of us, if not disabled, then faltering and declining, a state that may not be worse than death but is nonetheless deprived. It robs us of our creativity and ability to contribute to work, society, the world. It transforms how people experience us, relate to us, and, most important, remember us. We are no longer remembered as vibrant and engaged but as feeble, ineffectual, even pathetic.

Before he hits 75 he will reluctantly be “convinced” by his elite buddies that he is far to important and valuable to the nation to check out at the young age of 75. Other, less important and less irreplaceable 75 year olds will have to exit stage left on their 75th b-day however, all for the good of the society, of course.
The optimal age of death for someone is that point in time when they decide that they are capable and justified in making my decisions for me.
“For me its anywhere in the ~70 range, and I say that as a 60 year old.”
Gee,thanks./s
(From an 82 year old)
.
Thus their facilitation of enemy islamism.
That worthless POS can off himself anytime that he wants to and the sooner the better.
His self-removal from the face of the earth would make civilization, and the U.S. Constitution safer.
He should talk as many of his fellow democrats as possible to follow suit, again, as quickly as possible.
He and his brother need a good woopin with a twitch.
So someone should blow away this guy when HE turns 75!
Yeah, I'm celebrating 69 in a week, and 85 is beginning to sound not so old. <^..^>
Or a switch or whatever the heck it’s called.
If he’s DYSLEXIC he should be put down now!
I’d like to live to 105, as long as my husband is with me and I can still garden.
Hang in there, kid. :)
Like Hillary, he’ll have a “listening tour” when he approaches 75. That is, he will if he can still hear. /S
Just turned 74. Working every day, contributing to community. Sharing with family and friends. Looking for a mate. My future is exciting.
If I live to 100 there will be joy and inspiration and work to keep body and mind together.
Jimmy Carter is already 14 years overdue.
Hey, all four of my wifes and my parents are still alive, all in their mid-80’s.
I’m ready to go any day. But my perspective has nothing to do with the value of people at ANY age. I’m just sayin’ that the bible pegs a generation at around 70 years. I’m not saying a person SHOULDN’T live beyond that. I joke that once I hit my 70th, I’ll feel a bit like I’m living on borrowed time.
But the truth is that EVERY day is borrowed time, regardless of age.
Yeah, I can remember when 60 was old. Now, well it’s not a baby, but it’s a sprightly age anyway :)
Notice he said AFTER the flood.
IIRC, Methuselah actually means, “When he is gone, judgement will come.”
