Six kids from the block where Michael Brown was killed tell the truth about race with some humor in video.
Six kids from Ferguson, Missouri, where Michael Brown was shot and killed, have something to say about the state of racism in a humorous video called "Hey White People: A Kinda Awkward Note to America by #Ferguson Kids" created by the T-shirt company FCKH8.com.
"Sometimes white people are like, 'But is racism still a thing?' Spoiler alert: Duh. Just because Beyoncé is on your playlist and you voted for Obama, doesn't mean that our generation has seen the end of racist drama," they say in a series of clips.
"All this focus on race makes me uncomfortable. Uncomfortable? Try being Black," the smart kids continue. They then run down facts about racial disparities in America — from stop-and-frisk numbers to employment discrimination.
"Do you know that employers don't even need to see the color of our skin for the discrimination to begin?" one girl said. "Resumes with Black sounding names, like Tenisha or Tyrone, are 50 percent less likely to get called in for a job interview than the exact same resume with white-sounding names."
The video also had some humorous parts. "Some of my best friends are Black," says one boy. Another boy claps his hands in applause at the fact. "You get a cookie," one of the smallest kids says and holds the reward up to the screen.
During the video, the kids wear T-shirts that declare, "Racism is not over, but I'm over racism."
The video is promoting a fundraiser for five different anti-racism causes. For every tee or hoodie sold, $5 will be donated to organizations fighting to make change, the website states.
Two days before he was set to begin college, Michael Brown, 18, was killed Aug. 9 by Darren Wilson, a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer. The tragic death has brought the issue of police brutality back to the nation's attention. The city of Ferguson has erupted in protests and cries for justice for the teen.
Let’s say it all together “RACIST”....
I’m not even going to read anything other than the headlines, because I do not care what anyone in Ferguson has to say.

I have a message for black kids about racism. White Racism is not an actual factor in your life. Black Racism is. Black Racism is why you have a good chance to die poor or in jail.
I might do it if I didn't give a damn what those people thought of him. In fact, I've probably already done that. For intance, many of our kids have names that scream "Catholic" and when you couple their first and middle names with their last name, their names scream, "Irish Catholic." When we named our kids, my wife and I pretty much told the anti-Catholics of the world to go to hell.
Ok, that was our choice. If people don't like it, don't hire 'em. But I'm not going to stand back and say they've been discriminated against on the basis of their names. If that were a legitimate worry, we'd have given them more generic names. If people whose respect you want to have are going to discriminate against you because of a specific action, don't do the specific action. This is not rocket science.
I hope the t-shirts are black.
Ferguson is 30.6% white (per city data). How on earth are these tykes being oppressed by them.

Look at the attitude in that video.
They want it to sound cute and cause people to buy into their vision of life.
They don’t realize that their smart ass attitude which exemplifies the collective attitude of their race to others, is the reason why managers don’t call in black folks for interviews.
You do and they don’t get the job, you’ve got a law suit on your hands. You hire the person and you can’t get rid of them because to do so would also be racist. You’ve got a law suit on your hands.
You don’t call them in, and you’re a racist.

Drive by shootings. Selling drugs on the street corner. Women turning tricks to pay for their habit? Kids living in squalor, while mom shoots up.
Is this just a stereotypical perception? In some regards yes, but if you think five blocks in black-town isn’t closer to this than five blocks in white-town, you’re not paying attention.
So with drive-bys, who is committing them? Is it the white youth? Is it the black youth?
You tell me which car is going to get pulled over and the occupants frisked? And you know what folks, if you can’t figure this one out, do I really need to read your resume?
I tend to think the best of people, but when pushed, I’ll explain what goes on in folk’s mind. I may not like it, but folks have opinions. Yes, even white folks.
Read this black folks. The sarcasm doesn’t sell.

Yup, smart employers don’t hire a lawsuit looking for a place to happen. If you randomly pick your child’s name from a Zimbabwe phone book their job prospects will be limited in America.
And that is as it should be. I understand the dynamic you’re referencing. There are plenty of good people out there. We had a number of highly professional accomplish blacks at my former place of employment.
The attitudes were in sync with all other employees. It was a good working environment.
I have also seen blacks hired into jobs where there was a quick pace required, and they chose not to stick around.
Same thing happens with whites too.
LOL! They want to tell White people racism still exists?? Not a day passes without a report of a racist attack on whites and others by Blacks. Whether its Black mobs targeting White people or White people being the victim of the Knockout Game or fellows like George Zimmerman being threatened with lynching or Asians being attacked in Rochester, NY.

As always, they demand that the world accommodate their ignorant whims, rather than empowering themselves by tagging their offspring with impromptu nonsense that advertises ignorance and lack of family self-control. I guess folks have to go with what they have.
The line about being “over racism” while doing everything to perpetuate it is sorta funny.
