The Environmental Protection Agency has quietly claimed that it has the authority to unilaterally garnish the wages of individuals who have been accused of violating its rules.
According to The Washington Times, the agency announced the plan to enhance its purview last week in a notice in the Federal Register. The notice claimed that federal law allows the EPA to "garnish non-Federal wages to collect delinquent non-tax debts owed the United States without first obtaining a court order."

Wait....many Democrats don't have wages?
Someone, PLEASE tell me that a revolution is close at hand.
By-the-way, thank Richard Nixon for the EPA.
More out of control Nazism.
For the list.
Nixon enabled the EPA by executive order.
(Notice the ‘non-Federal wages’ distinction?)
I can’t wait for it to start...no matter how it turns out.
Wouldn’t that violate the “takings clause” of the Constitution.
There are so many people....there won’t be enough gallows and piano wire.
Another agency that has been comandeered by the current occupant of the oval office.
They’re just going to “borrow” the power.
Right!! The goose steppers are running wild.
And the beat goes on.
Actually, the EPA has always had the power to take everything you have if you have violated the rules/regulations.
I recall that being one of the lessons they touched on when I received my EHS Degree. That the EPA can come after the company, which is what they usually do for the deep pockets, but they can come after the individual as well.
And if you want to really get freaked out about the agency’s ability to do this...consider if someone contaminated some land, sold it to you, you sold it to someone else and decades later they ‘discover’ the contamination. You and everyone in the chain-of-custody can be held liable.
All without ever having to set foot in a true court of law.
Have a great day now!
If an obscure government agency can destroy a football team over its name, then certainly, ANY government agency feels it has the right to take your money.
The Federal Government is out of control.
Is there a link to where or how we can give our ‘feedback’ to the EPA?
Maybe FR could organize a contest for the most creative feedback delivered to the EPA... anyone game?

who ?
the EPA ?
yeah ... waddaya want ?
you want me to take joe's pay and send it to you ?
ok, i'll get right on it
So, no right to due process, no day in court? Who died and made them King?
It’s time to shrink government to a tiny fragment of what it is today.
Here's a comment.
F-you...
“The notice went on to say that the EPA had fast-tracked the new rule, enabling it to take effect September 2 unless the agency receives enough adverse public comments by August 1. The EPA said the rule was not subject to review because it was not a “significant regulatory action.”
Better start sending in those comments...
I went to the EPA page, but couldn’t find where we can comment on this.
If someone know the link could you please post where we can comment on this specific plan.
