JERUSALEM – Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.

The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

Not that McCain needs to look stupid-er, but all of this shows just how stupid he was when he was advocating for arming and training the Syrian terrorists. A plan that would have come back to bite us hard. It has anyway, actually.

I posted earlier that all military equipment we ‘give’ to other nations should include a simple kill switch we could activate if the materiel is being used against our interests.

I suggest the same kind of technology be surgically and irreversibly implanted in every foreign soldier we train.

For over 10 years we have supposedly been training the Iraqi and Afghani military and police.

At Mosul 10,000 regular Iraqi soldiers ran from the fight with 800 terrorists.

Tell me again how “nation building” and “training soldiers and police” worked out?

Maybe reverting to their natural customs and practices of killing each other will be an improvement.
