JERUSALEM Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.
The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.
The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

If there are any adults left in the Democrat Party, would you please go get your President and take him to Summer camp so he can make some pot holders. Thank-you.
So why were we trying to topple Syria?
So why were we trying to topple Libya?
So why were we trying to topple Egypt?
In every case the Islamists benefit.
Could it be that Obama wants Islamists to benefit?
If the muzzies would refrain from killing Christians and Jews, that might be OK.
He unwisely did not suspend US aid to Egypt (which we have been giving for quite some time).
There is a difference between aid to a country and support for the democratically-elected political party that is in government.
No one can argue that the US Congress funded the Muslim Brotherhood as an organization.
I Googled ISIS and found out things in two minutes that would make your hair stand right up on end, as my granny used to say.
Same with Los Zetas.
It sure would be nice if the government would spend less time training, funding and arming narco-terrorists and plain old terrorists like ISIS, and spend a little more time protecting us from them.
And another question is whether some here have such a dislike for WND that they can't evaluate anything from that site objectively.
Stories of this sort of US involvement have been around since soon after the fighting in Syria started. And the article does use Der Spiegel and The Guardian as sources.
I seriously doubt WND would "make up" information of this sort to generate revenue. No one has the full story on US involvement in arming or training the 'rebels' in Syria, but I don't think very many doubt that there was some significant involvement.
Did those Brand New Toyota Pickups also come from Obama ?
“The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.”
Morons!
Well, I did read a report that al-Qaida kicked them out for being too extreme.
Der Spiegel and The Guardian have recently (though no so recently actually for The Guardian) cultivated a strong anti-US bias with their breathless and adoring coverage of Julian Assange.
"There is something bad going on here, and that means the US must be behind it" is poor logic and poor reportage.
The latter:
“....
they intentionally provide aide to terrorists they knew would be used against Iraq? “
And then for the survivors to kill us.
Do you really think they’ll keep that knowledge and experience to themselves?
Tell me obama shouldn’t be in jail for treason! I dare you!
“Another question might be: Is WND making up unsourced nonsense in order to generate ad revenue on its site?”
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ap-us-training-syria-rebels-in-jordan/ Doesn’t say ISIS, but they are a major part of the Syrian opposition.
The Obama Administration was arming Islamic radicals to overthrow the Syrian government.
I could reference many articles but I will use just one.
I am more than happy to listen to an informed and intelligent opinion based on facts.
Yep they were totally vetted by our FBI that "The Great ObamaNation" has ethnically cleansed of Jews and infiltrated with islamics.
And don’t forget that country south of Iraq that has a king and is flush with oil.
Or is that a conclusion people wanted to jump to?
In other words, I did not prove a negative.
Again, the US training Syrian rebels (who are not all Islamists), does not mean the US trained ISIS.
That's an unsupported assumption, based on no facts.
There is zero proof so far that the US trained Islamic radicals in Syria.
