Sad to hear this.
I wonder if they had very strong evidence, so D’Souza decided to plead guilty, hoping for a lighter sentence?

This is a joke when you consider violating campaign finance laws is the norm for Commie ‘RATS.

I surmise a bargain was struck where he won’t do jail time, but he will be impoverished by fines.
The law is being applied selectively.
The demonRATs do this kind of thing with total impunity, and without fear of ever being investigated or punished when discovered.

Well. That is certainly you will never hear a Democrat or Obama Administration official do - EVER.

Da*n! He is now discredited and they have a leash on him to make sure that he behaves. If they give him a prison sentence, he will be taught to submit to the new overlords of America.

Good news. A conservative politician does the right thing, pleads guilty, and accepts his lumps like a real man.
We all make mistakes. We all break laws. It’s how we accept responsibility for them that truly matters.
To: kristinn
I wonder if his plea will allow him to appeal that the law is unconstitutional? Are the restrictions really legal?

he did in fact ask two people to make contributions in their name and later reimbursed themDidn't Gore accept $5000 donations from Buddhists nuns? I don't recall anything happening to the people who gave them the money to make the donations.

I assume this means that he has lost his right to vote. However, even though he’s no longer qualified to participate in our electoral system, he still has his first amendment rights and can still offer his opinion to those of us who can participate.

I was shocked by the $500,000 bond...I have seen people under indictment for murder with lower bonds. In the meantime good old Harry Reid has millions in shady campaign deals and not a peep from the FEC.

Author and conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza plead guilty this morning to federal charges accusing him of violating campaign finance laws and making false statements. D'Souza admitted in front of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, that he did in fact ask two people to make contributions in their name and later reimbursed them, knowing it was not proper under the law.Not as surprising as some might think.
