Author and conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza plead guilty this morning to federal charges accusing him of violating campaign finance laws and making false statements. D'Souza admitted in front of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, that he did in fact ask two people to make contributions in their name and later reimbursed them, knowing it was not proper under the law. Judge Richard Berman accepted his guilty plea and set a sentencing date for September 23, 2014. The government argued attorneys would be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt the defendant, D'Souza, is guilty.
"Guilty your honor," D'Souza said, adding that he deeply regrets his actions.
"The plea is now accepted and Mr. D'Souza is now guilty under the indictment," Berman replied.

I wonder if they had very strong evidence, so D’Souza decided to plead guilty, hoping for a lighter sentence?

I surmise a bargain was struck where he won’t do jail time, but he will be impoverished by fines.
The law is being applied selectively.
The demonRATs do this kind of thing with total impunity, and without fear of ever being investigated or punished when discovered.
It is hard to not to think his anti-Obama work has been a factor.
The law doesn’t apply to the ruling elite.
Well. That is certainly you will never hear a Democrat or Obama Administration official do - EVER.
Dinesh is going on a speaking tour. For all we know, he might even get bigger audiences with all of this going on.
That will be the day that he would get a lighter sentence with the communists Democrats out to kill.
Who started the complaint/investigation against D’Souza?
Probably. When the Feds are after you, it's usually the best you can do. Their conviction rate is incredibly high.
I suspect coercion.
They have already got what they wanted - nothing D'Souza ever says again will be listened to because of the "convicted campaign fraudster" tag that will be applied to his name.
They have silenced a dangerous critic - whether he goes to jail or not is irrelevant to them.
Da*n! He is now discredited and they have a leash on him to make sure that he behaves. If they give him a prison sentence, he will be taught to submit to the new overlords of America.
When does his movie come out?
Good news. A conservative politician does the right thing, pleads guilty, and accepts his lumps like a real man.
We all make mistakes. We all break laws. It’s how we accept responsibility for them that truly matters.

Rats probably wouldn’t plead guilty. Obviously D’Souza feels he did wrong and should pay the price.
I wonder if his plea will allow him to appeal that the law is unconstitutional? Are the restrictions really legal?
