What would the diversity counselors say about Johnson’s approach? African Americans make up about 13% of the US population, but 76% of NBA players, a percentage that has hardly fluctuated in recent years, even with the surge in European players joining the league. African American make up 68% of NFL players, and 9% of major league baseball players, a percentage that has been dropping for many years as Hispanic and Asian players have come into the league, and young blacks show less interest in the sport. A surprisingly large number of NHL players are black, almost 5%, 3/4 of whom are Canadian.

We could have the fedgov pass a retraining and assistance bill for the white guys who lose their NBA jobs!
They could become Obamacare sales agents.
The guy from NAACP says they are negotiating for Sterling to give more moneys(sic)??? So then, is the NAACP standing for any high principle here, or does money make this all go away soon?
Amazing. So much for any principled stands.
.... LOL .... so the answer to racism .... is to create segregated black leagues?
Great idea. Of course, games should only be broadcast on BET. They will need a black Vegas for making wagers in. How about there their own country to play games in too?
So... releasing this ‘news’ about Sterling was just a way to try and extort more money from him ?
.... I’m sure the black mafia (NAACP and Rainbow Coalition) are excited at the prospect of big bucks coming their way as a result of this shakedown.
I’m with you. Let them go for it. Liberia ring a bell for any of them?
Other than Popeye’s and KFC, who would supply the advertising to support those multi-million dollar player contracts?
Most of the revenue comes from sharing TV revenue. I wonder what TV share an all-black league would receive or an all-white league for that matter.
Sort of — been there:
‘They’ need to go back and read up on the Negro baseball league of several generations previous.
Family farms that raise produce (melons, etc.)?
The symbolic value of a drive to have a black basketball league is a priceless example to the bemused people of our country.
NOPE PONTIACS
who would supply the advertising to support t
“WEBEe TOYS and CHIT” ?
Thats actual a pretty sweet looking ride IMHO
The NBA is basically all black with a few white Europeans thrown in. It’s one of the few places where no one wants to feature more diversity.
I realize it is mostly all speculation but had heard today that the tapes of ‘THE BIGOT’ were tampered with dramatically and she seemed to be baiting him - Much along the same lines as Marion Barry and his ‘crack’ bust. I am not denying his guilt BUT she certainly went out of her way to get him to ‘smoke’. At that time all ‘hizzoner’ wanted was a little leg. Am sure he may have taken a hit or two afterward but she clearly coerced him by dangling ‘herself’ in front of him ONLY AFTER he smoked.
STILL guilty but definitely MB was correct in his “The Biatch Set Me Up”.
Now, playing the “Devils Advocate” here, what will the reaction be when Magic Johnson buys the team for a steal WHEN he was a large part of the ‘take down the Cracka Scandal’ - whether he knew it or not it sure wouldn’t pass the smell test.
For the Jackson/Sharpton entourage etc what would the reaction be if say a ‘Blond’ friend of Magic J was to do hours of taping and end up using say Donald Trump as the ‘Trump’ Card and when MJ was ‘on the ropes’ “The Donald” stepped in and bought the Dodgers for a ‘steal’? ........HMMMMMM
I doubt somebody as stupid as Johnson would have thought that far ahead. Obviously, his idea will go nowhere, but it does give an indication of how deluded are many lib athletes and fans. I've been on a few sports forums following Johnson's statements, and there are number of commenters who actually believe he might have a good idea. They were outnumbered by the commenters who informed them about the difficulty of getting an enterprise like that off the ground, racist implications aside.
