2010: Admiral: President Obama Gave Us Choice to Accept Gays in Military or Resign
Breitbart's Big Peace ^ | April 1, 2014 | AWR Hawkins

Posted on 04/03/2014 12:20:40 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Robert Papp said that in 2010 Obama told U.S. military leaders to accept his push for gays in the military, and that if they didn't, they could take the "opportunity to resign [their] commissions."

Papp said these things in a video BuzzFeed obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The video shows a speech Papp delivered to Coast Guard Academy cadets during which he was asked how he would deal with enforcing an order with which he didn't agree. He used the story of his 2010 meeting with Obama as an example of how service members' duties can be compelling and conflicting with personal desires....

Jarrett is already choosing who’s in charge. Look at how many have been purged.

Your post #193 is very convincing. I’m not saying it would have changed anything. What I’m saying is, had it been me, I would have resigned on principle. The problem is there are too many people in this country today who are willing to compromise their principles.

It would change the entire game if the entire JCS resigned over the one issue of perversion in the military, The clown in the White House would have backed off, if the entire JCS resigned. Hell, even Hitler would back down when his top brass threatened resignation. The creature is a politician, no more, and as such would back off in order to avoid a confrontation with adverse PR.

What was it about this Romney post that caused you to troll this thread and start posting at me?

Why not just point out what it is, so that we conservatives can respond to you?

To: 2ndDivisionVet
Romney was a true believer in homosexualizing the military 20 years ago, that is the reason that we need conservatives, not libertarians, and not “moderates”, as GOP nominees.
Mitt Romney:
“”One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.””

General James T. Conway , Commandant , United States Marine Corps , threw down the glove ; he left the Corps after this challenge .

Draft James T. Conway to run for President of the United States . America needs to be led by warriors , not by lawyers .

There are lawyers (John Edwards, Obama, Hillary, Michelle) and there are lawyers (Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Ann Coulter) right?

When I was in the service, you were taught to respect the office - not necessarily the man.

Obama was well within his right to tell the Joint Chiefs what he wanted to do and what they could do if they disagreed.

It was then up to each Chief to decide whether they could in good conscience obey - if not, they should have resigned.

Since none did, they should suck it up and keep quiet about it.

And there weren’t 5 resignations placed on his desk? If you disagree with the policy, then publicly resign and walk away. Stand up for what you believe in. Integrity I think they call it. Seems to be missing now days in the upper ranks of the military.

There's too much hero worship of anything military around here. It's Ground Zero for political correctness these days, and none of these bureaucrats are standing up. Heck, we had renegade Admirals and Generals popping off all the time back in the 80's. Now, it's a bunch of yes men. I think it goes back to bringing chicks into the academies, but I don't know anything.

There is an elitist element in our society often with “Harvard” in their resume that likely has had a life of privilege and pretentiousness (but no military), that wakes up every morning in their position of government authority and policy making and decides .....what policies will politically divide the USA society and especially the masses...today?

They thrive on dividing our mainstream society on such issues as gays in the military, political correctness, gun control, giving some Americans protected status, while others just get blamed and they might call it hate crime. They like quotas for some and not for others. They also like to muzzle most but give the megaphone to the few.

Take women in the military, and especially in combat units for example. The “Harvard pushers” knew full well the outcome of mixing young people and with lots of hormones in military, and that it would result in sexual interaction that the elites can use as a hammer against military leadership. Hey no doubt some are sexual assaults, but they knew going into it that it would happen.

Women in combat is another issue that will disrupt unit cohesiveness at the worst time. The ability of the two sexes to carry out a mission equally will never happen. Those making these policies are doing it for politics and to create divide.

Some call them liberals, I call them manipulators. We’re all being manipulated like marionettes on a string.

WIKIPEDIA QUOTE:A marionette is a puppet controlled from above using wires or strings depending on regional variations. A marionette’s puppeteer is called a manipulator.[1]

that’s true ....

But haven’t we seen , given an ultimate leadership role , they apply a certain type of overly measured ‘caution’ and inappropriate ‘equanimity ‘

in other words ; they commonly cast our pearls to the swine

sorry , but it is my experience and opinion that lawyers are ‘ law benders’ and legal process abrogators , if it in anyway suits the requirements and cause of their cases .

Great if it’s a defense lawyer and your ass is in a sling , but when it comes to running the country this way .
Look at Obama , Look at Clinton . We have to stop electing lawyers ! And start electing former warriors . Lawyers have no business taking the roll of commander and chief over our Armed Forces . None whatsoever .
Let any person which is an attorney quit their position , or firm , or voluntarily dis-barr , in order to run for office . Any less less will lead to national conflict of interest .

I agree. The enlisted people do not have the option to just resign over having the gay agenda shoved down their throat. It is up to the leaders to have the moral courage to resign for them to prevent this perversion of our military.

They all failed. 100% of them. The enlisted people deserve better than that.

I think you’re GROSSLY overestimating Obama’s respect of the military. Hitler served in combat, so he had a modicum of respect for his military. Obama hates us, plain and simple. Jarrett picks their replacements, they’re back in business with a new JCS before the next news cycle starts.

That’s it.

You would have good men and women sacrifice decades of their lives for that?

Citizen soldiers sacrifice their lives so we can live as Free men, what more can you ask of a man. Being a Free man is a principle. Therefore, it is not too much to ask a military man to sacrifice a higher pension return for a principle. I think you miss the impact of a mass resignation by the JCS even on these clowns currently in office. In fact, this current group of imbeciles would be more fearful of the negative impact occasioned by a mass JCS resignation than would a real leader-who by the way would never place a man in the position of having to sacrifice his lively hood to obey a principle. Tradition said that the Roman Brutus, when shown his sons were traitors to Rome Brutus ordered the death of his own sons. I know what I say is hard, I have a family to support and thus consider; I worked long and hard and fortunately never had to face such a choice. It can be and should be done.
