First Lady Michelle Obama talked about America as she visited a school today in China. She talked about the American dream:
And my story isn’t unusual in America. Some of our most famous athletes, like LeBron James, and artists, like the singer Janelle Monae, came from struggling families like mine, as do many business leaders -- like Howard Schultz. He’s the head of a company called Starbucks, which many of you may have heard of. When Mr. Schultz was a boy his father lost his job, leaving their family destitute. But Mr. Schultz worked hard. He got a scholarship to a university, and eventually built the largest coffeehouse company in the world.
And then there’s this other guy I know who was raised by a single mother who sometimes struggled to afford food for their family. But like me, this guy got scholarships and loans to attend universities. He became a lawyer and a professor, and then he was a state senator and then a national senator. And then, he became President of the United States. This guy I’m talking about is my husband, Barack Obama. (Applause.)
These stories are the stories of so many Americans, and of America itself. Because in America, we believe that no matter where you live or how much money your parents have, or what race or religion or ethnicity you are, if you work hard and believe in yourself, then you should have a chance to succeed. We also believe that everyone is equal, and that we all have the right to say what we think and worship as we choose, even when others don’t like what we say or don’t always agree with what we believe.

Obama's a poor son of a single mother or a bi-racial son of a two parent family or raised at a private school in Hawaii or part of the 'Chroom Gang, Kenyan born, Hawaii born, whatever angle works. My guess: the Chinese don’t care at all if Americans had laws discriminating against black people. My daughter was a student in China last year and she saw a lot of blatant rudeness and hostility towards the black students in her group. She got some blatant rudeness but not so much, and not much hostility. People would come up to her and say, “oh your skin is so pale, so pretty.” Black skin is ugly to the Chinese. And the Chinese are steeped in corruption and distrust, filled with an every-man-for-himself attitude, family first and the Chinese second, and the rest of the world not ranked. The past, present, and future sufferings of black people, no concern at all, except as apparatchiks use them to criticize the US and the West, cynical fascist hypocrites that they are.
She said this in the oppressive, communist, slave death camp called, China.
Only an Obama could do that.
It’s like Reagan standing in front of that wall and (instead) saying, “Gorbachev, the Irish weren’t allowed to be Firemen in New York City. Can you believe it?”
Is Michelle trying to prove George Wallace and all those evil segregationists were right?

Where would that be in the Constitution? Currently taking a college course on pre 1877 history and we have discussed there was absolutely no reference to slavery in the Constitution. It was a volatile subject even then so it was ignored.

ANY and EVERY behavior that based on race in unique from the normal collective behaviors when interfacing with everyone else is racism. Giving advantage OR taking away of advantage based on race is all racist behavior and fly in the face of Dr. King’s color blind society. Shameful.
So, there were laws against Irish and Poles, too, so what? It’s ancient history.
I’ll bet the Chinese just love blacks. Not that they would see them overwhelmingly as criminals and malcontents who wouldn’t survive a month in China.
She really hates America, even while she lives like a queen on our money.
Says the lady (and I use that term loosely!) who attended Princeton, has the luxury to discard a law license after attending Harvard Law, and soaking up a $300K annual salary for a do nothing job from the U of Chicago hospital. Yes, she’s been so poorly treated. I guess that’s why she has taken numerous multi-million dollar vacations on the taxpayer dime - payback baby!
That old reading style is difficult for me but still...where does it say you can buy or trade black people?
I know the Southern states wanted slaves counted in the census so they would be better represented (Representatives based on population count) and that is how they came up with the 3/5ths rule.
There were also indentured servants (white people) at the time and they didn’t want them to escape to another state and not work out their 7-10 year term of indentured servitude. But I guess I still don’t see where it’s okay to buy/sell black people.
