So, I lurk on Free Republic quite a bit. Usually it's to read some of the outrageous comments some post here and some of it is to see what your opinions are on certain articles that also get posted elsewhere.
So, a little bit about myself. I'm in my 20s and of Hispanic origin. I was born in New York but moved to Florida when I was three years old. I'm what you guys would consider a "socialist". I don't consider myself a socialist, I'm a supporter of the free market economy except I favor strong government regulations.
While on many issues am probably to the left of the Democratic Party there is one issue I agree with the Republicans but it isn't an issue that would ever sway me to vote for the Republican Party. That issue is gun rights. I love guns and I believe the 2nd amendment is a fundamental right to the people of the United States. I don't believe in a ban on "assault" weapons or on accessories like there is on certain sized magazines. I also support the right for one to properly defend themselves with or without deadly force with your legally owned firearm.
However, on economic and social issues I side with the DNC. I'm probably to the left of the DNC on most issues.
So anyways, ask away.

I met a guy like that at work. He talked about how conservative he was, but that he supported abortion. He told me one of the most horrifying answers I have heard to date. He said, that it allows blacks to control their population and that since Roe vs. Wade the number of violent crimes substantially has been reduced. He even said “abortion is a beautiful thing.”
I told him that he should quit his job here, and work in an abortion clinic so that he can see first hand how “beautiful” it is.
He was one of he most disgusting people I ever talked with. The next time he came by my area and started talking about the subject again, I told him that I will report him to both the manager and human resources.

Now that’s interesting. Was he a true conservative, or one of those cafeteria “fiscal” conservatives?

He either wasn’t suspended or he’s been reinstated. Look.
I have no desire to ask a smartass dummy a damn thing. Only thing I will ask you is to go the hell away and I hope your vote ruins your life to the utmost. I want extreme misery for you and and I think you are going to get that. Hahaa!

These seem to be rather contradictory, when it comes to actualization — the reason is that private property is needed to enact self-defense, which socialism erodes. We can see that private property is tied to such self-determination in cases like the CO baker and NM photographer: they were held liable for violating the rights of homosexuals by denying their wares/abilities — to the utter exclusion of the realization their own self-determination — their private property [wealth/ability-to-perform-occupation] was held ransom for accommodating people that they wished to have no association with.
Self-defense is the ultimate example of self-determination: allowing one to defend one's own life from being coerced or harmed even at the harm (or death) of another person.

This is true — and it's also true that we have a generation of people brainwashed into believing that "socialism" is good/desirable, even under its own label.

Probably a paid troll. The Dems are laying a trap. Their latest line is “we just want a conversation” on obamacare.
I heard a Dem caller spouting those talking points on Hannity today. Basically he said “If you don’t agree to help the Dems fix kenyancare on their terms you are a hater/racist/whatever and you should shut up”.
Their plan is to blame the kenyancare mess on the GOP for not wanting to “help fix” democratcare. Disgusting.
