EXCLUSIVE: Mob of teens attack man in downtown Cleveland Updated: Feb 11, 2014
By Ed Gallek
Ed Gallek talks to Matthew Robinson, the latest victim in a downtown attack
There's evidence of more violent teens running around the heart of downtown Cleveland.
A disabled Army vet spoke out about the latest attack that happened Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.
Matthew Robinson told our Ed Gallek he was riding RTA's Healthline when six to eight teenagers surrounded him on the bus, and then started following him.
Then, he said they attacked, took his stuff, and videotaped what they were doing.
The incident went down at 6th and Euclid, and the crowd scattered when cops showed up.
Robinson told 19 Action News, "What they were saying was, 'Knock that boy out!' 'White boy.' 'Cracker.' They were saying, 'Knock that white boy out.'"

I was going down to Bo Loong for Dim Sum. Had to park on a side street. Got out of my car and saw a bunch of fugs walking away from me. Three or four saw me and turned around. I jumped back in my car and split. Waved down a Cleveland cop, and informed him. He quite rudely told me Find another restaurant.
I posted this yesterday, about the same incident.
And yet the 19 Action News and their courageous reporter Gallek call them "teens?"
Teens...it's the new N-Word.
Not a hate crime. No way!
Definitely not racially motivated violence.
No need for the Justice Department to investigate a possible violation of this mans civil liberties.
Where are the comments? I can't seem to find them.
First, what the heck is, “Dim Sum?”
Second, do you carry concealed?
Errybuddy noze whats kinds of teens.
Part of the problem is enlightened education reforms. All of those HS students from closed underperforming high schools go to specialty programs downtown, some of them bringing in thugs. Those little darlin's have to get to and from their schools on public transportation, and it's not always a good mix.
Don't blame Cleveland residents for that. When three east side high schools were closed, EVERYBODY was screaming how dumb it was to transport kids out of their neighborhoods for education. It's actually federal regulation that forced the closing of "underperforming schools".
If this continues, it's really bad news for Cleveland. A LOT has been done to make the downtown a desirable destination for conventions, restaurants, the casino, work, even living there. It won't take much for people to be turned off.
Online description of Dim Sum. But here in Cleveland, many other types of dishes are included, such as shrimp, tripe, chicken feet, mussels, and on and on.
“Dim sum is an integral part of Chinese cuisine, closely associated with the tradition of yum cha, or taking tea. This type of food can be found all over China and in many parts of the West, where it is a popular meal. Most people eat dim sum is usually served in the late morning through the early afternoon, although some establishments serving it are open later. It is a meal that should be lingered over, in multiple courses that traditionally have a set order.
Dim sum is an umbrella category for small Chinese dishes. Typical examples of this food are small dumplings, wrapped foods such as won tons and egg rolls, and other foods. In general, individual portions of dim sum are small, so that numerous dishes can be ordered and sampled by the table. Most dim sum falls under the category of a savory pastry, although these foods can be prepared in a variety of ways. Dim sum can be steamed, fried, boiled, baked, or broiled, and this wide range of options makes for a lively and varied meal.
Usually, dim sum is served from rolling carts, which makes it markedly different from Western foods. A specific type of dish is used for each food, so that at the end of the meal, the staff can add up all the dirty dishes to determine how much should be charged. Eating traditional dim sum is like grazing, and it encourages diners to linger and nibble, sometimes for hours.”
Not really carry. Ruger SP101 in my car. No guns allowed in the restaurant.
Just raise the hem of your shirt a bit to show them a bit of blued steel and give 'em a wink. No need to interrupt your dim sum hunt.
What do they use? Metal detectors or a pat down?
AH! Thanks.
I just took my Wife to a great Japanese restaurant yesterday and ate me some tasty squid.
Almost bought the SP-101 two years ago, too. She fell in love with the XDs .45, though.
If you DO take the plunge into concealed carry, please remember that it’s a life-changing decision. But, you’ll feel better having done it.
Just my $0.02
“What do they use? Metal detectors or a pat down?”
I’ve been going there for about 25 years. Although I don’t agree with them, I respect them enough to comply with their wishes. Usually get to park in their lot, so no problems. Only parked on the side street a couple times. My policy now is to only park in the restaurant lots. If I can’t I do what the rude cop said and try another restaurant. There are several good ones in the area.
