NEW ORLEANS -- A well-known New Orleans musician is hospitalized and unconscious after being jumped in the French Quarter.

Doug Potter's family and friends believe he may have been a target of the "knock out" game.

"Always here when we needed him. Really nice man," said Chef Rick Tyler of Cafe Beignet.

This is my best friend's uncle. The doctors are telling the family that he may never come out of the coma. Luckily, the "knock out game" is just something made up by racist right wing extremists. God, I hope they catch those bastards!

It is important that we remember attacks like these as the liberal media is fond of telling us that using a handgun to defend yourself against hands and feet isn't a "justified use of force".

Think back to the Zimmerman trial where they tried to convince America that having your skull repeatedly bashed into a sidewalk wasn't life threatening and Zimmerman wasn't justified.

It will behoove us to remember incidents like this in the future. Guaranteed.

NOLA is the only place where I’ve been threatened with guns, knives, and mugging. Lived there for 8 years. Dangerous city to live in.

Surely the NOLA police realize that this is very bad for business and tourism. So hopefully when they identify the individuals involved, they will go “old school” on them.

Though it is pretended away, an awful lot of public violence in the US in the past was prevented by police coming down hard on villains, by other than judicial means.

The illusion that the courts, jail and prison are always the preferred way of dealing with such scum, is more fantasy than reality. Sometimes it’s just necessary that the police “take out the trash”, as long as they do so discreetly.

Until it's the son, daughter, wife or husband of a high level Democrat Congressman, Senator or President that is killed or put in a coma, NOTHING will be done about this nor will it be given adequate coverage in the media.

Even then it's dubious that the true nature of the problem will be discussed.
